⁴ “And it shall be in that day that ^(A)every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not wear ^(B)a robe of coarse hair to deceive.

⁴ Now ^(A)John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was ^(B)locusts and ^(C)wild honey.

² at the same time the Lord spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and remove ^(A)the sackcloth from your ^[a]body, and take your sandals off your feet.” And he did so, ^(B)walking naked and barefoot.

⁸ So they answered him, ^(A)“A hairy man wearing a leather belt around his waist.”

And he said, ^(B)“It is Elijah the Tishbite.”

³ And I will give power to my two ^(A)witnesses, ^(B)and they will prophesy ^(C)one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

⁶ Now John was ^(A)clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.

⁸ But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses. ⁹ But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, ^(A)and more than a prophet.
