Futura gloria de Jerusalén
2 [a]Entonces alcé los ojos y miré, y he aquí, vi un hombre con un cordel de medir en la mano(A). 2 Y le dije: ¿Adónde vas? Y me respondió: A medir a Jerusalén para ver cuánta es su anchura y cuánta su longitud(B). 3 Y he aquí, cuando el ángel que hablaba conmigo(C) salía, otro ángel le salió al encuentro, 4 y le dijo: Corre, habla a ese joven(D), y dile: «Sin muros[b] será habitada(E) Jerusalén(F), a causa de la multitud de hombres(G) y de ganados dentro de ella. 5 Y yo seré para ella» —declara el Señor— «una muralla(H) de fuego en derredor, y gloria seré en medio de ella(I)».
6 ¡Ea, ea! Huid de la tierra del norte(J) —declara el Señor— porque como a los cuatro vientos del cielo os dispersé yo —declara el Señor(K). 7 ¡Ea, Sión, tú que moras con la hija de Babilonia, escápate(L)! 8 Porque así dice el Señor de los ejércitos, cuya[c] gloria me ha enviado contra las naciones que os despojaron(M), porque el que os toca, toca la niña de su ojo(N): 9 He aquí, alzaré mi mano contra ellas(O), y serán despojo para sus esclavos(P). Entonces sabréis que el Señor de los ejércitos me ha enviado. 10 Canta de júbilo y alégrate, oh hija de Sión; porque he aquí, vengo, y habitaré en medio de ti(Q) —declara el Señor(R). 11 Y se unirán muchas naciones al Señor(S) aquel día, y serán mi pueblo. Entonces habitaré en medio de ti(T), y sabrás que el Señor de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ti(U). 12 Y el Señor poseerá[d] a Judá, su porción en la tierra santa(V), y escogerá de nuevo a Jerusalén(W). 13 Calle toda carne delante del Señor(X), porque Él se ha levantado de su santa morada(Y).

El hombre con el cordel de medir
2 Alcé la vista y vi ante mí un hombre que tenía en la mano un cordel de medir. 2 Le pregunté: «¿A dónde vas?». Y él me respondió: «Voy a medir a Jerusalén. Quiero ver cuánto mide de ancho y cuánto de largo».
3 Ya salía el ángel que hablaba conmigo, cuando otro ángel vino a su encuentro 4 y le dijo: «Corre, dile a ese joven: “Tanta gente y ganado habrá en Jerusalén, que llegará a ser una ciudad sin muros. 5 Yo seré para ella —afirma el Señor—, un muro de fuego y dentro de ella seré su gloria”.
6 »¡Atención! ¡Atención! ¡Huyan del país del norte! —afirma el Señor—, ¡Fui yo quien los dispersó a ustedes por los cuatro vientos del cielo!», afirma el Señor.
7 «Oh Sión, tú que habitas en Babilonia, ¡sal de allí; escápate!
8 »Porque así dice el Señor de los Ejércitos, cuya gloria fui enviado a buscar entre las naciones que los despojaron a ustedes: “La nación que toca a mi pueblo, toca la niña de mis ojos. 9 Yo agitaré mi mano contra esas naciones y sus propios esclavos las saquearán”. Así sabrán que me ha enviado el Señor de los Ejércitos.
10 »¡Grita de alegría, hija de Sión! ¡Yo vengo a habitar en medio de ti!», afirma el Señor.
11 «En aquel día, muchas naciones se unirán al Señor. Ellas serán mi pueblo y yo habitaré entre ellas. Así sabrán que el Señor de los Ejércitos es quien me ha enviado a ustedes. 12 El Señor tomará posesión de Judá, su porción en tierra santa y de nuevo escogerá a Jerusalén. 13 ¡Que todo el mundo guarde silencio ante el Señor, quien ya avanza desde su santa morada!».

2 I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2 Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
3 And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
4 And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
5 For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord.
7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
8 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.
10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.
11 And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
12 And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

A Man With a Measuring Line
2 [a]Then I looked up, and there before me was a man with a measuring line in his hand. 2 I asked, “Where are you going?”
He answered me, “To measure Jerusalem, to find out how wide and how long it is.”(A)
3 While the angel who was speaking to me was leaving, another angel came to meet him 4 and said to him: “Run, tell that young man, ‘Jerusalem will be a city without walls(B) because of the great number(C) of people and animals in it.(D) 5 And I myself will be a wall(E) of fire(F) around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory(G) within.’(H)
6 “Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “for I have scattered(I) you to the four winds of heaven,”(J) declares the Lord.(K)
7 “Come, Zion! Escape,(L) you who live in Daughter Babylon!”(M) 8 For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye(N)— 9 I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them.[b](O) Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me.(P)
10 “Shout(Q) and be glad, Daughter Zion.(R) For I am coming,(S) and I will live among you,”(T) declares the Lord.(U) 11 “Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people.(V) I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.(W) 12 The Lord will inherit(X) Judah(Y) as his portion in the holy land and will again choose(Z) Jerusalem. 13 Be still(AA) before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.(AB)”
