L'ekal o il "santo" (santuario)
41 M'introdusse poi nel santuario e misurò i pilastri: erano larghi sei cubiti da una parte e sei cubiti dall'altra. 2 La porta era larga dieci cubiti e i lati della porta cinque cubiti da una parte e cinque cubiti dall'altra. Misurò quindi il santuario: era lungo quaranta cubiti e largo venti.
Il debir o il "santo dei santi"
3 Andò poi nell'interno e misurò i pilastri della porta, due cubiti, e la porta, sei cubiti; la larghezza della porta, sette cubiti. 4 Ne misurò ancora la lunghezza, venti cubiti e la larghezza, davanti al santuario, venti cubiti, poi mi disse: «Questo è il Santo dei santi».
Le celle laterali
5 Misurò poi il muro del tempio, sei cubiti; poi la larghezza dell'edificio laterale, quattro cubiti, intorno al tempio. 6 Le celle laterali erano una sull'altra, trenta per tre piani. Per le celle all'intorno, c'erano, nel muro del tempio, rientranze in modo che fossero collegate fra di loro, ma non collegate al muro del tempio. 7 Salendo da un piano all'altro l'ampiezza delle celle aumentava, perciò la costruzione era più larga verso l'alto. Dal piano inferiore si poteva salire al piano di mezzo e da questo a quello più alto. 8 Io vidi intorno al tempio una elevazione. I fondamenti dell'edificio laterale erano di una canna intera di sei cubiti. 9 La larghezza del muro esterno dell'edificio laterale era di cinque cubiti, come quella dello spazio rimanente. Fra l'edificio laterale del tempio 10 e le stanze c'era una larghezza di venti cubiti intorno al tempio. 11 Le porte dell'edificio laterale rimanevano sullo spazio libero; una porta dava a settentrione e una a mezzogiorno. Lo spazio libero era cinque cubiti tutt'intorno.
L'"edificio" occidentale
12 La costruzione che era di fronte allo spazio libero sul lato d'occidente, aveva settanta cubiti di larghezza; il muro della costruzione era tutt'intorno dello spessore di cinque cubiti; la sua lunghezza di novanta cubiti.
13 Poi misurò il tempio: lunghezza cento cubiti; lo spazio libero, edificio e sue mura, anch'essi cento cubiti. 14 La larghezza della facciata del tempio con lo spazio libero, cento cubiti. 15 Misurò ancora la larghezza dell'edificio di fronte allo spazio libero nella parte retrostante, con le gallerie di qua e di là: era cento cubiti.
Ornamentazione interna
L'interno del santuario, il suo vestibolo, 16 gli stipiti, le finestre a grate e le gallerie attorno a tutti e tre, a cominciare dalla soglia, erano rivestiti di tavole di legno, tutt'intorno, dal pavimento fino alle finestre, che erano velate. 17 Dalla porta, dentro e fuori del tempio e su tutte le pareti interne ed esterne erano dipinti 18 cherubini e palme. Fra cherubino e cherubino c'era una palma; ogni cherubino aveva due aspetti: 19 aspetto d'uomo verso una palma e aspetto di leone verso l'altra palma, effigiati intorno a tutto il tempio. 20 Da terra fino sopra la porta erano disposti cherubini e palme sulle pareti del santuario.
21 Gli stipiti del santuario erano quadrangolari.
L'altare di legno
Davanti al Santo dei santi c'era come 22 un altare di legno, alto tre cubiti, due cubiti di lunghezza e due di larghezza. Gli angoli, la base e i lati erano di legno. Mi disse: «Questa è la tavola che sta davanti al Signore».
23 Il santuario e il Santo dei santi avevano due porte ciascuno. 24 Ogni porta aveva due battenti e ogni battente si ripiegava in due pezzi: due per un battente e due per l'altro. 25 Sulle porte erano dipinti cherubini e palme come sulle pareti: un portale di legno era sulla facciata dell'atrio all'esterno. 26 Finestre e grate e palme erano da tutt'e due le parti, ai lati del vestibolo, alle celle annesse al tempio e agli architravi.

41 En seguida el hombre me llevó al interior mismo del templo, y midió las pilastras: ambas tenían tres metros de grueso. 2 La puerta tenía cinco metros de ancho; sus soportes medían dos metros y medio de ancho cada uno. Luego midió la sala central, y tenía veinte metros de largo por diez de ancho. 3 Después fue a la sala del fondo y midió las pilastras de la entrada, y cada una tenía un metro de grueso. La entrada tenía tres metros de ancho, y las pilastras de cada lado medían tres metros y medio de grueso. 4 Luego midió la sala del fondo, y medía diez metros por lado. Entonces me dijo: «Éste es el Lugar santísimo.»
Las celdas construidas junto al muro
5 Luego el hombre midió la pared exterior del templo, y tenía tres metros de grueso. Alrededor del templo, y unidas al mismo, había celdas de dos metros de profundidad. 6 Estas celdas estaban una sobre otra, formando tres pisos, y en cada piso había treinta celdas. El muro del templo era más estrecho en cada piso, y sobre estos entrantes se apoyaban las vigas de las celdas, de modo que no quedaban empotradas en el muro. 7 Por fuera de las celdas que rodeaban el templo había una rampa que llegaba hasta la parte de arriba, y así se podía subir desde la planta baja al piso intermedio y al de arriba. 8 Yo vi que por todos lados el templo estaba sobre una base elevada, sobre la cual también estaban construidas las celdas. Esta base tenía una altura de tres metros. 9-10 La pared exterior de las celdas tenía dos metros y medio de grueso, y alrededor de todo el templo, entre las celdas que rodeaban el templo y los cuartos de los sacerdotes, había un espacio libre de diez metros de ancho. 11 Las celdas se comunicaban con el espacio libre por medio de una puerta hacia el norte y otra hacia el sur. El espacio libre tenía a todo lo largo un muro de dos metros y medio de grueso.
El edificio del oeste
12 Por el oeste, mirando hacia el patio cerrado, había un edificio que medía treinta y cinco metros de ancho por cuarenta y cinco de largo, con un muro de dos metros y medio de grueso.
Medidas totales del templo
13 El hombre midió el templo, y tenía en total cincuenta metros de largo. El ancho del patio cerrado, más el edificio y sus muros, también era de cincuenta metros. 14 La fachada del templo, más la parte del patio cerrado que daba al oriente, medía cincuenta metros. 15 Luego midió el largo del edificio que quedaba detrás del templo, frente al patio cerrado, más los muros de cada lado, y era de cincuenta metros.
Detalles del templo
Las salas interiores del templo y el vestíbulo 16-17 estaban recubiertos de madera. Las ventanas enrejadas y los marcos que había alrededor estaban recubiertos de madera por los tres lados. El espacio comprendido entre el piso y las ventanas, y la parte superior de la puerta, también estaban recubiertos. Las paredes del templo, por dentro y por fuera, 18 estaban cubiertas de grabados alternados de seres alados y palmeras. Cada ser alado tenía dos caras; 19 de un lado, una cara de hombre miraba a una palmera, y del otro, una cara de león miraba a otra palmera. Así, alrededor de todo el templo 20 había grabados de seres alados y palmeras, desde el piso hasta la parte superior de las puertas. En la pared de la sala central, 21 el marco de la puerta tenía los postes cuadrados.
El altar de madera
Frente a la entrada del Lugar santísimo había algo que parecía 22 un altar de madera, que medía un metro por lado, y un metro y medio de alto. Tenía esquinas, y la base y sus lados eran de madera. El hombre me dijo: «Ésta es la mesa que está delante del Señor.»
Las puertas
23-24 Tanto la sala central como el Lugar santísimo tenían puertas dobles. Cada puerta tenía dos hojas que se abrían hacia la pared. 25 Las puertas de la sala central tenían grabados de seres alados y palmeras, iguales a los que había en los muros. En la fachada del vestíbulo, por la parte de afuera, había una verja de madera. 26 A cada lado del vestíbulo había ventanas enrejadas y grabados de palmeras. Las celdas unidas al templo también tenían verjas.

41 Then the man brought me to the main hall(A) and measured the jambs; the width of the jambs was six cubits[a] on each side.[b] 2 The entrance was ten cubits[c] wide, and the projecting walls on each side of it were five cubits[d] wide. He also measured the main hall; it was forty cubits long and twenty cubits wide.[e](B)
3 Then he went into the inner sanctuary and measured the jambs of the entrance; each was two cubits[f] wide. The entrance was six cubits wide, and the projecting walls on each side of it were seven cubits[g] wide. 4 And he measured the length of the inner sanctuary; it was twenty cubits, and its width was twenty cubits across the end of the main hall.(C) He said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.(D)”
5 Then he measured the wall of the temple; it was six cubits thick, and each side room around the temple was four cubits[h] wide. 6 The side rooms were on three levels, one above another, thirty(E) on each level. There were ledges all around the wall of the temple to serve as supports for the side rooms, so that the supports were not inserted into the wall of the temple.(F) 7 The side rooms all around the temple were wider at each successive level. The structure surrounding the temple was built in ascending stages, so that the rooms widened as one went upward. A stairway(G) went up from the lowest floor to the top floor through the middle floor.
8 I saw that the temple had a raised base all around it, forming the foundation of the side rooms. It was the length of the rod, six long cubits. 9 The outer wall of the side rooms was five cubits thick. The open area between the side rooms of the temple 10 and the priests’ rooms was twenty cubits wide all around the temple. 11 There were entrances to the side rooms from the open area, one on the north and another on the south; and the base adjoining the open area was five cubits wide all around.
12 The building facing the temple courtyard on the west side was seventy cubits[i] wide. The wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length was ninety cubits.[j]
13 Then he measured the temple; it was a hundred cubits[k] long, and the temple courtyard and the building with its walls were also a hundred cubits long. 14 The width of the temple courtyard on the east, including the front of the temple, was a hundred cubits.(H)
15 Then he measured the length of the building facing the courtyard at the rear of the temple, including its galleries(I) on each side; it was a hundred cubits.
The main hall, the inner sanctuary and the portico facing the court, 16 as well as the thresholds and the narrow windows(J) and galleries around the three of them—everything beyond and including the threshold was covered with wood. The floor, the wall up to the windows, and the windows were covered.(K) 17 In the space above the outside of the entrance to the inner sanctuary and on the walls at regular intervals all around the inner and outer sanctuary 18 were carved(L) cherubim(M) and palm trees.(N) Palm trees alternated with cherubim. Each cherub had two faces:(O) 19 the face of a human being toward the palm tree on one side and the face of a lion toward the palm tree on the other. They were carved all around the whole temple.(P) 20 From the floor to the area above the entrance, cherubim and palm trees were carved on the wall of the main hall.
21 The main hall(Q) had a rectangular doorframe, and the one at the front of the Most Holy Place was similar. 22 There was a wooden altar(R) three cubits[l] high and two cubits square[m]; its corners, its base[n] and its sides were of wood. The man said to me, “This is the table(S) that is before the Lord.” 23 Both the main hall(T) and the Most Holy Place had double doors.(U) 24 Each door had two leaves—two hinged leaves(V) for each door. 25 And on the doors of the main hall were carved cherubim and palm trees like those carved on the walls, and there was a wooden overhang on the front of the portico. 26 On the sidewalls of the portico were narrow windows with palm trees carved on each side. The side rooms of the temple also had overhangs.(W)
