6 Lúc ấy, CHÚA phán với Môi-se: “Bây giờ con sẽ thấy việc Ta làm cho Pha-ra-ôn: Vì tay quyền năng của Ta, vua ấy sẽ để cho dân ra đi; vì tay quyền năng của Ta vua ấy sẽ trục xuất dân ra khỏi xứ.”
2 Đức Chúa Trời phán tiếp với Môi-se: “Ta là CHÚA. 3 Ta đã hiện ra với Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, và Gia-cốp với danh ‘Đức Chúa Trời Toàn Năng’[a] nhưng Ta không hề tỏ cho họ danh ‘CHÚA’.[b] 4 Ta cũng đã lập giao ước với họ để ban cho họ xứ Ca-na-an là xứ họ đã kiều ngụ như người ngoại quốc. 5 Ta đã nghe tiếng ta thán của dân Y-sơ-ra-ên là dân bị người Ai-cập bắt làm nô lệ và Ta nhớ lại giao ước của Ta.
6 Vậy, con hãy nói với dân Y-sơ-ra-ên rằng: ‘Ta là CHÚA, Ta sẽ đem các ngươi ra khỏi ách của người Ai-cập. Ta sẽ phóng thích các ngươi khỏi vòng nô lệ, Ta sẽ cứu chuộc các ngươi bằng cánh tay dang ra và đoán phạt người Ai-cập với các việc quyền năng. 7 Ta sẽ nhận các người làm dân Ta và Ta làm Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi. Khi đó các ngươi sẽ biết Ta là CHÚA, Đức Chúa Trời của các ngươi, Đấng đem các ngươi ra khỏi ách nô lệ của người Ai-cập. 8 Ta sẽ đem các ngươi vào xứ Ta đã thề hứa với Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác và Gia-cốp. Ta sẽ cho các ngươi xứ ấy làm sản nghiệp. Ta là CHÚA.’ ” 9 Môi-se thuật lại những lời này cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên nhưng họ không chịu nghe ông, vì họ nản lòng và vì ách nô lệ quá nặng nề.
10 CHÚA lại phán bảo Môi-se: 11 “Con đến nói với Pha-ra-ôn hãy để cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ra khỏi xứ.” 12 Nhưng Môi-se thưa với CHÚA: “Nếu dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đã không nghe con thì Pha-ra-ôn lại nghe con là người nói ngập ngừng hay sao?”
13 CHÚA lại phán với Môi-se và A-rôn về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên và về Pha-ra-ôn, vua Ai-cập. Ngài truyền lệnh cho họ đem dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ra khỏi xứ Ai-cập.
Gia Phả Của Môi-se Và A-rôn
14 Sau đây là danh sách các trưởng tộc của họ: Các con trai của Ru-bên, trưởng nam của Y-sơ-ra-ên, là Hê-nóc, Pha-lu, Hết-rôn và Cạt-mi. Đó là các tộc của Ru-bên. 15 Các con trai của Si-mê-ôn là Giê-mu-ên, Gia-min, Ô-hát, Gia-kin, Xô-ha và Sau-lơ (có mẹ là người Ca-na-an). Đó là các tộc của Si-mê-ôn. 16 Đây là tên các con trai Lê-vi, theo gia phả: Ghẹt-sôn, Kê-hát và Mê-ra-ri. Lê-vi thọ một trăm ba mươi bảy tuổi. 17 Các con trai của Ghẹt-sôn, tùy theo tộc, là Líp-ni và Si-mê-i. 18 Các con trai của Kê-hát là Am-ram, Dít-sê-ha, Hếp-rôn và U-xi-ên. Kê-hát thọ một trăm ba mươi ba tuổi. 19 Mê-ra-ri có hai con trai là Mách-li và Mu-si. 20 Am-ram cưới Giô-kê-bết là cô mình, sinh A-rôn và Môi-se. Am-ram thọ một trăm ba mươi bảy tuổi. 21 Đít-sê-ba có ba con trai: Cô-rê, Nê-phết và Xiếc-ri. 22 U-xi-ên cũng có ba con trai: Mi-sa-ên, En-sa-phan và Sít-ri. 23 A-rôn cưới Ê-li-sê-ba, con gái A-mi-na-đáp, em Na-ha-sôn; các con trai họ là Na-đáp, A-bi-hu, Ê-lê-a-sa và Y-tha-ma. 24 Các con trai của Cô-rê là Át-si, Ên-ca-na và A-bi-a-sáp. 25 Ê-lê-a-sa, con A-rôn, cưới con gái Phu-ti-ên; một trong những con trai của họ tên là Phi-nê-a. Đó là các trưởng tộc Lê-vi và gia đình họ.

28 CHÚA cũng đã bảo Môi-se: “Ta là CHÚA. 29 Hãy đi gặp Pha-ra-ôn, truyền lại cho vua ấy mọi lời Ta đã bảo!” 30 Vào lúc ấy, Môi-se có thưa: “Con ăn nói vụng về, làm sao thuyết phục Pha-ra-ôn được?”

6 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:
3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the Lord.
9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
10 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
11 Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.
12 And Moses spake before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?
13 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
14 These be the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of Reuben.
15 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.
16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years.
17 The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.
18 And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years.
19 And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations.
20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.
21 And the sons of Izhar; Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri.
23 And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
24 And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korhites.
25 And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.
26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the Lord said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.
27 These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.
28 And it came to pass on the day when the Lord spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
29 That the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.
30 And Moses said before the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

God Promises Deliverance
6 But the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with (A)a strong hand he will (B)drive them out of his land.”
2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, (C)“I am the Lord. 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as (D)God Almighty,[a] but by my name the (E)Lord I did not make myself known to them. 4 (F)I also established my covenant with them (G)to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as sojourners. 5 Moreover, (H)I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, (I)‘I am the Lord, and (J)I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and (K)I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment. 7 I (L)will take you to be my people, and (M)I will be your God, and you shall know that (N)I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out (O)from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 I will bring you into (P)the land that I (Q)swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. I will give it to you for a possession. (R)I am the Lord.’” 9 Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel, but they (S)did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery.
10 So the Lord said to Moses, 11 “Go in, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the people of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, the people of Israel have (T)not listened to me. How then shall Pharaoh listen to me, for (U)I am of uncircumcised lips?” 13 But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge about the people of Israel and about Pharaoh king of Egypt: to bring the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
The Genealogy of Moses and Aaron
14 These are the heads of their fathers' houses: the (V)sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the clans of Reuben. 15 The (W)sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the clans of Simeon. 16 These are the names of the (X)sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, the years of the life of Levi being 137 years. 17 The (Y)sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, by their clans. 18 The (Z)sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, the years of the life of Kohath being 133 years. 19 The (AA)sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. 26 These are the Aaron and Moses (AJ)to whom the Lord said: “Bring out the people of Israel from the land of Egypt (AK)by their hosts.” 27 It was they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the people of Israel from Egypt, this Moses and this Aaron.
28 On the day when the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29 the Lord said to Moses, (AL)“I am the Lord; (AM)tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you.” 30 But Moses said to the Lord, “Behold, (AN)I am of uncircumcised lips. How will Pharaoh listen to me?”
