Floden med livets vatten
22 Han visade mig sedan en flod med livets vatten, klar som kristall, och den flöt fram från Guds och Lammets tron, 2 mitt i den stora gatan. På båda sidor om floden växte livets träd, som bär frukt tolv gånger om året och ger skörd varje månad, och bladen från träden är läkemedel för folken.[a]
3 Ingen förbannelse ska finnas mer. Guds och Lammets tron ska stå i staden, och hans tjänare ska tjäna honom. 4 De ska se hans ansikte, och hans namn ska stå skrivet på deras pannor. 5 Det ska aldrig mer bli någon natt, och ingen behöver längre några lampor eller solens ljus, för Herren Gud ska lysa över dem. Och de ska regera i all evighet.
6 Efter det sa han till mig: ”Detta budskap är trovärdigt och sant. Herren, som är Gud över profeternas andar, har sänt sin ängel för att visa sina tjänare vad som snart måste hända.”
Jesus kommer snart
7 ”Se, jag kommer snart! Lycklig är den som tar vara på profetians ord i den här boken.”
8 Det var jag, Johannes, som fick höra och se allt detta. När jag hade hört och sett allt föll jag ner för att tillbe ängeln som hade visat det för mig, 9 men han sa: ”Nej, gör inte det! Jag är bara Guds tjänare, precis som du och dina bröder profeterna och alla de som tar vara på det som står i den här boken. Det är Gud du ska tillbe.” 10 Och han sa till mig: ”Försegla inte profetians ord i den här boken, för tiden är nära. 11 Den som är orättfärdig ska fortsätta att göra det som är orättfärdigt, och den som är oren ska fortsätta att orena sig. Men den som är rättfärdig ska fortsätta att vara rättfärdig, och den som är helig ska fortsätta att hålla sig helig.”
Inbjudan och varning
12 ”Se, jag kommer snart, och jag har med mig lön som ska ges till var och en efter hans gärningar. 13 Jag är alfa och omega,[b] den förste och den siste, början och slutet.”
14 Lyckliga är de som tvättar sina dräkter rena,[c] för de ska få rätt att äta av frukten från livets träd och gå in genom stadens portar. 15 Men utanför står hundarna, de som har sysslat med ockultism, ägnat sig åt sexuell omoral, och mördarna, avgudadyrkarna och alla som har älskat lögnen och levt sitt liv i lögn.
16 ”Jag, Jesus, har sänt min ängel till er för att vittna om detta för församlingarna. Jag är Davids rotskott och hans ättling, den strålande morgonstjärnan.[d]”
17 Anden och bruden[e] säger: ”Kom!” Den som hör det ska också säga: ”Kom!” Den som är törstig ska komma, för den som vill får dricka av livets vatten[f] helt gratis.
18 Men jag vittnar för alla som lyssnar till det profetiska budskapet i den här boken: Om någon lägger till något till det, ska Gud låta honom drabbas av alla de plågor som det står om i boken. 19 Och om någon tar bort något från det profetiska budskapet i den här boken, ska Gud ta ifrån honom hans del i livets träd och den heliga staden, som det står om i den här boken.
20 Han som vittnar om detta säger: ”Ja, jag kommer snart!”
Amen. Kom, Herre Jesus!
21 Nåd från Herren Jesus åt alla.

2 och flöt fram mitt igenom stadens gata. Och på båda sidor om strömmen stodo livsträd, som gåvo tolv skördar, ty de buro frukt var månad; och trädens löv tjänade till läkedom för folken.
3 Och ingen förbannelse skall vara mer. Och Guds och Lammets tron skall stå där inne, och hans tjänare skall tjäna honom
4 och skola se hans ansikte; och hans namn skall stå tecknat på deras pannor.
5 Och ingen natt skall vara mer; och de behöva icke någon lampas ljus, ej heller solens ljus, ty Herren Gud skall lysa över dem, och de skola regera i evigheternas evigheter.
6 Och han sade till mig: »Dessa ord äro vissa och sanna; och Herren, profeternas andars Gud, har sänt sin ängel för att visa sina tjänare, vad som snart skall ske.
7 Och se, jag kommer snart. Salig är den som tager vara på de profetians ord som stå i denna bok.»
8 Och jag, Johannes, var den som hörde och såg detta. Och när jag hade hört och sett det, föll jag ned för att tillbedja inför ängelns fötter, hans som visade mig detta.
9 Men han sade till mig: »Gör icke så. Jag är din medtjänare och dina bröders, profeternas, och deras som taga vara på denna boks ord. Gud skall du tillbedja.»
10 Och han sade till mig: »Göm icke under något insegel de profetians ord som stå i denna bok; ty tiden är nära.
11 Må den som är orättfärdig fortfara att öva sin orättfärdighet och den som är oren att orena sig. Så ock den som är rättfärdig, han fortfare att öva sin rättfärdighet, och den som är helig att helga sig.
12 Se, jag kommer snart och har med mig min lön, för att vedergälla var och en efter som hans gärningar äro.
13 Jag är A och O, den förste och den siste, begynnelsen och änden.
14 Saliga äro de som två sina kläder för att få rätt att äta av livets träd och att gå in i staden genom dess portar.
15 Men de som äro hundar och trollkarlar och otuktiga och dråpare och avgudadyrkare och alla som älska och göra lögn, de måste alla stanna därutanför.»
16 Jag, Jesus, har sänt min ängel för att i församlingarna vittna om detta för eder. Jag är telningen från Davids rot och kommen av hans släkt, jag är den klara morgonstjärnan.
17 Och Anden och bruden säga: »Kom.» Och den som hör det, han säge »Kom.» Och den som törstar, han komme; ja den som vill, han tage livets vatten för intet.
18 För var och en som hör de profetians ord, som stå i denna bok betygar jag detta: »Om någon lägger något till dem, så skall Gud på honom lägga de plågor om vilka är skrivet i denna bok.
19 Och om någon tager bort något från de ord som stå i denna profetias bok, så skall Gud taga ifrån honom hans del i livets träd och i den heliga staden, om vilka är skrivet i denna bok.»
20 Han som betygar detta säger: »Ja, jag kommer snart.» Amen. Kom Herre Jesus!

22 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
