Kristi seger över Satan
20 (A) Och jag såg en ängel komma ner från himlen med nyckeln till avgrunden och en stor kedja i handen. 2 (B) Och han grep draken, den gamle ormen som är Djävulen och Satan, och band honom för tusen år. 3 Sedan kastade ängeln honom i avgrunden och stängde och förseglade den över honom, för att han inte mer skulle förleda folken förrän de tusen åren nått sitt slut. Därefter ska han släppas lös för en kort tid.
4 (C) Och jag såg troner, och de som satt på dem fick rätt att döma. Och jag såg själarna av dem som hade blivit halshuggna för Jesu vittnesbörd och Guds ord och som inte hade tillbett vilddjuret och dess bild eller tagit emot märket på sin panna eller sin hand. De levde och regerade med Kristus i tusen år. 5 (D) Men de andra döda levde inte förrän de tusen åren hade gått. Detta är den första uppståndelsen. 6 (E) Salig och helig är den som har del i den första uppståndelsen. Över dem har den andra döden ingen makt, utan de ska vara Guds och Kristi präster och regera med honom i tusen år.
7 Och när de tusen åren har nått sitt slut ska Satan släppas ut ur sitt fängelse. 8 (F) Och han ska gå ut för att förleda folken vid jordens fyra hörn, Gog och Magog, och samla dem till striden. Deras antal är som havets sand. 9 (G) De drog upp över hela jordens vidd och omringade de heligas läger och den älskade staden. Men eld kom ner från himlen och förtärde dem. 10 (H) Och djävulen som hade förlett dem kastades i sjön av eld och svavel där också vilddjuret och den falske profeten är. Och de ska plågas dag och natt i evigheters evighet.
Den slutliga domen
11 (I) Och jag såg en stor vit tron och honom som satt på den. För hans ansikte flydde jord och himmel, och det fanns ingen plats för dem. 12 (J) Och jag såg de döda, stora och små, stå inför tronen. Och böcker öppnades, och ännu en bok öppnades, livets bok. Och de döda dömdes efter sina gärningar, efter det som stod skrivet i böckerna. 13 Och havet gav igen de döda som fanns i det, och döden och helvetet gav igen de döda som fanns i dem, och var och en dömdes efter sina gärningar.[a] 14 (K) Och döden och helvetet kastades i eldsjön. Detta, det vill säga eldsjön, är den andra döden. 15 Och om någon inte fanns skriven i livets bok kastades han i eldsjön.

Tusenårsriket
20 Sedan såg jag en ängel som kom ner från himlen med nyckeln till den bottenlösa avgrunden. Ängeln hade också en tung kedja i sin hand.
2 Han grep draken - den gamle ormen, som är Satan själv - och band honom i tusen år.
3 Han kastade ner honom i den bottenlösa avgrunden, som han sedan stängde och låste. Och han förseglade dörren så att han inte kunde bedra folken längre, förrän de tusen åren hade gått. Därefter ska han åter släppas ut för en kort tid.
4 Sedan såg jag troner, och de som satt på dem fick rätt att döma. Och jag såg de människor som hade blivit halshuggna därför att de vittnat om Jesus och predikat Guds ord. De hade inte tillbett vilddjuret eller hans bild och hade inte hans m¤rke p¦ sina pannor eller sina h¤nder. De hade f¦tt liv igen, och nu regerade de med Kristus i tusen ¦r.
5 Detta var den första uppståndelsen. (Resten av de döda kom inte tillbaka till livet förrän de tusen åren var över.)
6 De som får vara med om den första uppståndelsen är välsignade och heliga. För dem innebär inte den andra döden någon fasa, för de kommer att vara Guds och Kristi präster och ska regera med honom i tusen år.
Satan får sitt straff
7 När de tusen åren är över kommer Satan att släppas ut ur sitt fängelse.
8 Han ska gå ut och bedra folken i världen och samla dem till strid tillsammans med Gog och Magog, en väldig armé, lika omöjlig att räkna som sandkornen på havets strand.
9 De kommer att marschera upp på den stora slätten och omringa Guds folk där de lägrat sig och slå en ring kring den älskade staden Jerusalem. Men då ska eld från Gud i himlen falla ner på de anfallande arméerna och utplåna dem.
10 Sedan ska djävulen, som hade lurat dem, än en gång kastas ner i samma sjö av eld och svavel som djuret och den falske profeten, och de ska plågas dag och natt i evigheternas evigheter.
Livets bok och Guds dom
11 Och jag såg en stor vit tron och honom som sitter på den. För hans ansikte flydde jorden och himlen, men det fanns ingen plats att gömma sig på.
12 Jag såg de döda, stora och små, stå inför Gud, och böcker öppnades, bland dem också livets bok. Och de döda dömdes enligt det som fanns skrivet i böckerna, var och en efter de handlingar han hade gjort.
13 Haven gav tillbaka de döda som var i dem, och jorden och de dödas rike överlämnade de döda som fanns i dem. Alla blev dömda efter sina gärningar.
14 Och döden och helvetet kastades ner i den brinnande sjön. Detta är den andra döden, den brinnande sjön.
15 Och den som inte hade sitt namn skrivet i livets bok, kastades i den brinnande sjön.

Christ’s Thousand Year Reign
20 Then I saw (A)an angel coming down from heaven, having the (B)key of the abyss and a great chain [a]in his hand. 2 And he laid hold of the (C)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and (D)bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he threw him into the (E)abyss, and shut it and (F)sealed it over him, so that he would (G)not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were finished. After these things he must be released for a short time.
4 Then I saw (H)thrones, and (I)they sat on them, and (J)judgment was given to them. And I saw (K)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of [b]their (L)witness of Jesus and because of the word of God, and who also had not (M)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the (N)mark on their forehead and on their hand. And they (O)came to life and (P)reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished. (Q)This is the first resurrection. 6 (R)Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection. Over these the (S)second death has no authority, but they will be (T)priests of God and of Christ and will (U)reign with Him for a thousand years.
The Defeat of Satan
7 And when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be (V)released from his prison, 8 and will come out to (W)deceive the nations which are in the (X)four corners of the earth, (Y)Gog and Magog, to (Z)gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the (AA)sand of the [c]seashore. 9 And they (AB)came up on the [d]broad plain of the earth and surrounded the (AC)camp of the saints and the (AD)beloved city, and (AE)fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And (AF)the devil who (AG)deceived them was thrown into the (AH)lake of fire and [e]brimstone, where the (AI)beast and the (AJ)false prophet are also, and they will be (AK)tormented day and night forever and ever.
The Great White Throne Judgment
11 Then I saw a great white (AL)throne and Him who sits upon it, from whose [f]presence (AM)earth and heaven fled away, and (AN)no place was found for them. 12 Then I saw the dead, the (AO)great and the small, standing before the throne, and [g](AP)books were opened; and another [h]book was opened, which is (AQ)the book of life. And the dead (AR)were judged from the things which were written in the [i]books, (AS)according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and (AT)death and Hades (AU)gave up the dead which were in them, and they were judged, every one of them (AV)according to their deeds. 14 Then (AW)death and Hades were thrown into (AX)the lake of fire. This is the (AY)second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if [j]anyone’s name was not found written in (AZ)the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Satan Freed and Doomed
