⁴ But when the ^(A)kindness of ^(B)God our Savior and His love for mankind ^(C)appeared, ^5 (D)He saved us, ^(E)not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but ^(F)in accordance with His mercy, by the ^(G)washing of regeneration and ^(H)renewing by the Holy Spirit, ^6 (I)whom He ^(J)richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that being justified by His grace we would be made ^(K)heirs ^[a]according to the hope of eternal life.

¹³ Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: ^(A)forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, ¹⁴ I ^(B)press on toward the goal for the prize of the ^(C)upward call of God in ^(D)Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Therefore, all who are ^[a](E)mature, let’s have this attitude; and if in anything you have a ^(F)different attitude, ^(G)God will reveal that to you as well; ¹⁶ however, let’s keep ^[b](H)living by that same standard to which we have attained.

¹⁷ Brothers and sisters, ^(I)join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the ^(J)pattern you have in us. ¹⁸ For ^(K)many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even as I ^(L)weep, that they are the enemies of ^(M)the cross of Christ, ¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose god is their ^[c](N)appetite, and whose ^(O)glory is in their shame, who ^(P)have their minds on earthly things. ²⁰ For ^(Q)our ^[d]citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly ^(R)wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; ²¹ who will ^(S)transform the body of our lowly condition into ^(T)conformity with ^[e]His ^(U)glorious body, ^(V)by the exertion of the power that He has even to ^(W)subject all things to Himself.
