Titus 3:3-7

³For ^(A)we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. ⁴But when ^(B)the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, ⁵he saved us, ^(C)not because of works done by us in righteousness, but ^(D)according to his own mercy, by ^(E)the washing of regeneration and ^(F)renewal of the Holy Spirit, ⁶whom he ^(G)poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷so that ^(H)being justified by his grace we might become ^(I)heirs ^(J)according to the hope of eternal life.

What Does the Lord Require?

⁶^(A)“With what shall I come before the Lord,
    and bow myself before ^(B)God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
    with calves a year old?
⁷^(C)Will the Lord be pleased with^[a] thousands of rams,
    with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
^(D)Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
    the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
⁸He has told you, O man, what is good;
    and ^(E)what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,^[b]
    and to ^(F)walk humbly with your God?
