⁵ to be self-controlled, ^(A)pure, ^(B)working at home, kind, and ^(C)submissive to their own husbands, ^(D)that the word of God may not be reviled.

⁸ and ^(A)sound speech that cannot be condemned, ^(B)so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

¹⁰ not pilfering, ^(A)but showing all good faith, ^(B)so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

⁸ The saying is ^(A)trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful ^(B)to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. ⁹ But ^(C)avoid foolish ^(D)controversies, ^(E)genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for ^(F)they are unprofitable and worthless.

¹⁴ And let our people learn ^(A)to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not ^(B)be unfruitful.
