^5 (A)This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and ^(B)appoint elders in every town as I directed you—

Teach Sound Doctrine

2 But as for you, teach what accords with ^(A)sound^[a] doctrine.

⁹ But ^(A)avoid foolish ^(B)controversies, ^(C)genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for ^(D)they are unprofitable and worthless.
