³ His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him ^(A)who called us to^[a] his own glory and excellence,^[b]

²⁵ correcting his opponents ^(A)with gentleness. God ^(B)may perhaps grant them repentance ^(C)leading to a knowledge of the truth,

¹¹ Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, ^(A)what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,

¹⁶ Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:
