3 Rappelle-leur d'être soumis aux magistrats et aux autorités, d'obéir, d'être prêts à toute bonne oeuvre,
2 de ne médire de personne, d'être pacifiques, modérés, pleins de douceur envers tous les hommes.
3 Car nous aussi, nous étions autrefois insensés, désobéissants, égarés, asservis à toute espèce de convoitises et de voluptés, vivant dans la méchanceté et dans l'envie, dignes d'être haïs, et nous haïssant les uns les autres.
4 Mais, lorsque la bonté de Dieu notre Sauveur et son amour pour les hommes ont été manifestés,
5 il nous a sauvés, non à cause des oeuvres de justice que nous aurions faites, mais selon sa miséricorde, par le baptême de la régénération et le renouvellement du Saint Esprit,
6 qu'il a répandu sur nous avec abondance par Jésus Christ notre Sauveur,
7 afin que, justifiés par sa grâce, nous devenions, en espérance, héritiers de la vie éternelle.
8 Cette parole est certaine, et je veux que tu affirmes ces choses, afin que ceux qui ont cru en Dieu s'appliquent à pratiquer de bonnes oeuvres.
9 Voilà ce qui est bon et utile aux hommes. Mais évite les discussions folles, les généalogies, les querelles, les disputes relatives à la loi; car elles sont inutiles et vaines.
10 Éloigne de toi, après un premier et un second avertissement, celui qui provoque des divisions,
11 sachant qu'un homme de cette espèce est perverti, et qu'il pèche, en se condamnant lui-même.
12 Lorsque je t'enverrai Artémas ou Tychique, hâte-toi de venir me rejoindre à Nicopolis; car c'est là que j'ai résolu de passer l'hiver.
13 Aie soin de pourvoir au voyage de Zénas, le docteur de la loi, et d'Apollos, en sorte que rien ne leur manque.
14 Il faut que les nôtres aussi apprennent à pratiquer de bonnes oeuvres pour subvenir aux besoins pressants, afin qu'ils ne soient pas sans produire des fruits.
15 Tous ceux qui sont avec moi te saluent. Salue ceux qui nous aiment dans la foi. Que la grâce soit avec vous tous!

Paggawa ng Mabuti
3 Ipaala-ala mo na sila ay magpasakop sa mga pinuno at sa mga may kapamahalaan. Maging masunurin at maging handa sa paggawa ng mabubuti.
2 Ipaala-ala mo rin sa kanila na huwag silang manlait sa kaninuman. Dapat din silang maging mapayapa, mahinahon at nagpapakita ng kababaang-loob sa lahat ng mga tao.
3 Ito ay sapagkat sa nakaraang panahon, tayo rin naman ay mga mangmang, mga masuwayin at mga iniligaw. Naging alipin tayo sa iba’t ibang masasamang pita at kalayawan. Namuhay tayo sa masamang hangarin at inggitan. Kinapootan tayo ng mga tao at napoot tayo sa isa’t isa. 4 Ngunit nahayag ang kabutihan ng Diyos, na ating Tagapagligtas at ang kaniyang pag-ibig samga tao. 5 Nang mahayag ito, iniligtas niya tayo, hindi sa pamamagitan ng mga gawa ng katuwiran na ating ginawa, kundi ayon sa kaniyang kahabagan. Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng muling kapanganakang naghuhugas sa atin at sa pamamagitan ng Banal na Espiritung bumabago sa atin. 6 Masagana niyang ibinuhos ang Banal na Espiritu sa atin, sa pamamagitan ni Jesucristo na ating Tagapagligtas. 7 Ginawa niya ito upang sa pagpapaging-matuwid sa atin, sa pamamagitan ng biyaya at ayon sa pag-asa, tayo ay maging tagapagmana ng buhay na walang hanggan. 8 Ito ay mapagkakatiwalaang salita. Ibig kong palagi mong bigyan ng diin ang mga bagay na ito upang ang mga mananampalataya sa Diyos ay maging maingat sa pagpapanatili ng mabuting gawa. Ang mga bagay na ito ay mabuti at kapakipakinabang sa mga tao.
9 Iwasan mo ang hangal na pagtatanungan, ang walang katapusang pagsasalaysay ng mga angkan, ang pag-aaway-away at pagtatalo patungkol sa kautusan sapagkat wala itong kapakinabangan at walang itong kabuluhan. 10 Itakwil mo ang taong lumilikha ng pagkakampi-kampi, kung hindi siya nakinig pagkatapos ng una at ikalawang babala. 11 Alam mo na ang ganyang tao ay lihis at nagkakasala, na hinatulan na niya ang kaniyang sarili.
Panghuling Tagubilin
12 Nang isinugo ko sa iyo si Artemas o si Tiquico, sikapin mong pumunta sa akin sa Nicopolis sapagkat aking ipinasyang doon magpalipas ng taglamig.
13 Sikapin mong matulungan si Zenas na manananggol at si Apollos sa kanilang paglalakbay. 14 Dapat matutunan ng ating mga tao na manatili sa mabubuting gawa sa araw-araw na pangangailangan upang magbunga.
15 Binabati ka ng lahat ng mga kasama ko. Batiin mo ang mga umiibig sa atin sa pananampalataya.
Biyaya ang sumainyong lahat. Siya nawa!

Saved in Order to Do Good
3 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities,(A) to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,(B) 2 to slander no one,(C) to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
3 At one time(D) we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness(E) and love of God our Savior(F) appeared,(G) 5 he saved us,(H) not because of righteous things we had done,(I) but because of his mercy.(J) He saved us through the washing(K) of rebirth and renewal(L) by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us(M) generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace,(N) we might become heirs(O) having the hope(P) of eternal life.(Q) 8 This is a trustworthy saying.(R) And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.(S) These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9 But avoid(T) foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels(U) about the law,(V) because these are unprofitable and useless.(W) 10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.(X) 11 You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.
Final Remarks
12 As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus(Y) to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there.(Z) 13 Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos(AA) on their way and see that they have everything they need. 14 Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good,(AB) in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.
