3 Zapamti ovo! U posljednje će dane nastupiti teška vremena. 2 Ljudi će biti sebični, pohlepni, hvalisavi, oholi, bogohulnici, neposlušni roditeljima, nezahvalni, bezbožnici. 3 Bit će bez ljubavi, nepomirljivi, ogovarači, bez vlasti nad sobom, okrutni, protivnici dobra. 4 Bit će izdajice, naprasiti, napuhani i više će voljeti užitak nego Boga. 5 Pretvarat će se da štuju Boga, ali neće dopuštati da ih njegova snaga promijeni. Kloni se takvih ljudi! 6 To ti govorim zato što se neki od njih uvlače u kuće i pridobivaju slabe ženice, opterećene grijesima, vođene svim vrstama požude. 7 One neprekidno uče, ali nikada ne dolaze do pune spoznaje istine. 8 Kao što su se Janes i Jambres[a] usprotivili Mojsiju, tako se i ti ljudi protive istini. Njihovi su umovi iskvareni i nikako ne dolaze do spoznaje istine. 9 Ali oni neće daleko dospjeti jer će se njihova ludost jasno vidjeti, kao što se jasno pokazala i Janesova i Jambresova ludost.

10 Što se tebe tiče, ti me slijediš u mom učenju, načinu života, cilju, vjeri, strpljivosti, ljubavi, ustrajnosti. 11 Ti vjerno pratiš moje progone i moja trpljenja. Znaš što mi se dogodilo u Antiohiji, Ikoniju i Listri, kakve sam progone trpio. Ali Gospodin me iz svega izbavio. 12 Zapravo, svi koji žele živjeti u Isusu Kristu onako kako to Bog želi, bit će progonjeni. 13 Zli će ljudi i varalice postajati sve gori i gori. Oni će varati druge, ali će prevariti i sami sebe. 14 No, ti ustraj u onome što si naučio i u što si se uvjerio! Znaš da možeš vjerovati onima od kojih si učio. 15 Znao si Sveta pisma još kao dijete. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

3 But know this, that (A)in the last days [a]perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, [b]unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 (B)traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 (C)having a form of godliness but (D)denying its power. And (E)from such people turn away! 6 For (F)of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able (G)to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 (H)Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: (I)men of corrupt minds, (J)disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, (K)as theirs also was.

Godlessness in the Last Days
3 But understand this, that (A)in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be (B)lovers of self, (C)lovers of money, (D)proud, (E)arrogant, abusive, (F)disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 (G)heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, (H)not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, (I)swollen with conceit, (J)lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but (K)denying its power. (L)Avoid such people. 6 For among them are (M)those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to (N)arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as (O)Jannes and Jambres (P)opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, (Q)men corrupted in mind and (R)disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, (S)as was that of those two men.
