4 Ce frumoasă(A) eşti, iubito, ce frumoasă eşti!
Ochii tăi sunt ochi de porumbiţă, sub marama ta.
Părul tău este ca o turmă de capre,
poposită pe coama Muntelui Galaad.
2 Dinţii(B) tăi sunt ca o turmă de oi tunse,
care ies din scăldătoare,
toate cu gemeni, şi niciuna din ele nu este stearpă.
3 Buzele tale sunt ca un fir de cârmâz
şi gura ta este drăguţă;
obrazul(C) tău este ca o jumătate de rodie,
sub marama ta.
4 Gâtul(D) tău este ca turnul lui David, zidit ca să fie o casă(E) de arme;
o mie de scuturi atârnă de el,
toate scuturi de viteji.
5 Amândouă(F) ţâţele tale sunt ca doi pui de cerb, ca gemenii unei căprioare
care pasc între crini.

2 Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn,
coming up from the washing.
Each has its twin;
not one of them is alone.(D)
3 Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon;
your mouth(E) is lovely.(F)
Your temples behind your veil
are like the halves of a pomegranate.(G)
4 Your neck is like the tower(H) of David,
built with courses of stone[a];
on it hang a thousand shields,(I)
all of them shields of warriors.
5 Your breasts(J) are like two fawns,
like twin fawns of a gazelle(K)
that browse among the lilies.(L)
