New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
7 You are stately[a] as a palm tree,
and your breasts are like its clusters.
8 I said, “I will climb the palm tree
and lay hold of its branches.”
O may your breasts be like clusters of the vine,
and the scent of your breath like apples,(A)
9 and your kisses[b] like the best wine
that goes down[c] smoothly,
gliding over lips and teeth.[d]
Song of Songs 7:7-9
Evangelical Heritage Version
The Man
7 How beautiful you are and how pleasing,
O loved one, daughter of delights![a]
8 Your height is like that of the date palm,
and your breasts like clusters of fruit.
9 I said, “I will climb the date palm.
I will take hold of its bunches of fruit.”
May your breasts be like the clusters of the vine,
the fragrance of your breath like apples,
Notas al pie
- Song of Songs 7:7 The translation follows a textual variant supported by the ancient versions. The Hebrew text reads O love, with delights.
