Song of Solomon 4:2-5
The Message
The Man
4 1-5 You’re so beautiful, my darling,
so beautiful, and your dove eyes are veiled
By your hair as it flows and shimmers,
like a flock of goats in the distance
streaming down a hillside in the sunshine.
Your smile is generous and full—
expressive and strong and clean.
Your lips are jewel red,
your mouth elegant and inviting,
your veiled cheeks soft and radiant.
The smooth, lithe lines of your neck
command notice—all heads turn in awe and admiration!
Your breasts are like fawns,
twins of a gazelle, grazing among the first spring flowers.
Song of Songs 4:2-4
New International Version
2 Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn,
coming up from the washing.
Each has its twin;
not one of them is alone.(A)
3 Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon;
your mouth(B) is lovely.(C)
Your temples behind your veil
are like the halves of a pomegranate.(D)
4 Your neck is like the tower(E) of David,
built with courses of stone[a];
on it hang a thousand shields,(F)
all of them shields of warriors.
