¹¹ And ^(A)they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, ^(B)and they did not love their lives to the death.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but ^(A)with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life ^(B)or by death. ²¹ For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ²² But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I ^[a]cannot tell. ^23 [b]For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a ^(C)desire to depart and be with Christ, which is ^(D)far better.

Jesus Restores Peter

¹⁵ So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of ^[a]Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I ^[b]love You.”

He said to him, ^(A)“Feed My lambs.”

¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of ^[c]Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I ^[d]love You.”

^(B)He said to him, “Tend My ^(C)sheep.”

¹⁷ He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of ^[e]Jonah, do you ^[f]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, ^(D)You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. ^18 (E)Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” ¹⁹ This He spoke, signifying ^(F)by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, ^(G)“Follow Me.”

²³ ‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, ^(A)‘and will make you like a signet ring; for ^(B)I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Message to Coniah

²⁴ “As I live,” says the Lord, ^(A)“though ^[a]Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, ^(B)were the ^[b]signet on My right hand, yet I would pluck you off;

¹⁴ if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes ^(A)jealous of his wife, who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, although she has not defiled herself—
