⁷ and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’?

²² For I ^(A)delight in the law of God according to ^(B)the inward man. ²³ But ^(C)I see another law in ^(D)my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

³⁸ Then He said to them, ^(A)“My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

³⁹ He went a little farther and fell on His face, and ^(B)prayed, saying, ^(C)“O My Father, if it is possible, ^(D)let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, ^(E)not as I will, but as You will.”

⁴⁰ Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? ^41 (F)Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. ^(G)The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

⁴² Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, ^[a]if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” ⁴³ And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

⁵ But while the bridegroom was delayed, ^(A)they all slumbered and slept.
