Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

¹⁹ They went out from us,^(A) but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.^(B)

⁷ Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,^(A)

⁸ Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him^(A) and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

¹⁴ And over all these virtues put on love,^(A) which binds them all together in perfect unity.^(B)

¹⁵ Let the peace of Christ^(C) rule in your hearts, since as members of one body^(D) you were called to peace.^(E) And be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the message of Christ^(F) dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom^(G) through psalms,^(H) hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.^{(I) 17} And whatever you do,^(J) whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks^(K) to God the Father through him.

¹⁸ Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands,^(M) as is fitting in the Lord.

¹⁷ The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?”^(A) He said, “Lord, you know all things;^(B) you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.^(C)
