Sirach 11:26-28

²⁶ It is easy for the Lord to pay back people
    according to their ways
    in the hour of death.
²⁷ An hour of misery
makes one forget luxury;
    the end of a person’s life
    reveals his or her deeds.
²⁸ Don’t call anyone happy
before their death;
    people are known
    through their children.^[a]
