Oración pidiendo justicia
94 Oh Señor, Dios de las venganzas(A),
oh Dios de las venganzas, ¡resplandece[a](B)!
2 Levántate(C), Juez de la tierra(D);
da su merecido a los soberbios(E).
3 ¿Hasta cuándo los impíos, Señor,
hasta cuándo los impíos se regocijarán(F)?
4 Charlan, hablan con arrogancia(G);
todos los que hacen iniquidad se vanaglorían(H).
5 Aplastan a tu pueblo(I), Señor,
y afligen a tu heredad(J).
6 Matan a la viuda y al extranjero[b],
y asesinan a los huérfanos(K).
7 Y dicen: El Señor[c] no lo ve,
ni hace caso(L) el Dios de Jacob.
8 Haced caso, torpes del pueblo;
necios[d], ¿cuándo entenderéis(M)?
9 El que hizo[e] el oído(N), ¿no oye?
El que dio forma al ojo, ¿no ve?
10 ¿No reprenderá el que castiga[f] a las naciones(O),
el que enseña conocimiento al hombre(P)?
11 El Señor conoce los pensamientos del hombre(Q),
sabe que son solo un soplo.
12 Bienaventurado el hombre a quien corriges[g](R), Señor[h],
y lo instruyes en[i] tu ley(S);
13 para darle descanso(T) en los días de aflicción(U),
hasta que se cave una fosa(V) para el impío.
14 Porque el Señor no abandonará a su pueblo(W),
ni desamparará a su heredad(X).
15 Porque el juicio[j](Y) volverá a ser justo[k],
y todos los rectos de corazón lo seguirán[l].
16 ¿Quién se levantará por mí(Z) contra los malhechores?
¿Quién me defenderá de[m] los que hacen iniquidad(AA)?
17 Si el Señor no hubiera sido mi socorro(AB),
pronto habría habitado mi alma en el lugar del silencio.
18 Si digo: Mi pie ha resbalado(AC),
tu misericordia, oh Señor, me sostendrá.
19 Cuando mis inquietudes se multiplican[n] dentro de mí,
tus consuelos(AD) deleitan mi alma.
20 ¿Puede ser aliado tuyo un trono[o] de destrucción(AE),
que planea el mal[p] por decreto(AF)?
21 Se unen(AG) contra la vida[q] del justo,
y condenan a muerte al inocente[r](AH).
22 Pero el Señor ha sido mi baluarte(AI),
y mi Dios la roca de mi refugio(AJ).
23 Él ha hecho volver sobre ellos su propia iniquidad(AK),
y los destruirá[s] en su maldad(AL);
el Señor, nuestro Dios, los destruirá[t].

El Señor es el Juez del mundo
94 ¡Muéstrate, Señor, Dios de las venganzas!
2 Tú eres el Juez del mundo;
¡levántate contra los orgullosos
y dales su merecido!
3 ¿Hasta cuándo, Señor,
hasta cuándo se alegrarán los malvados?
4 Todos esos malhechores
son insolentes y altaneros;
¡son unos fanfarrones!
5 Oh Señor,
ellos destrozan a tu pueblo;
¡humillan a los tuyos!
6 Matan viudas y extranjeros;
asesinan huérfanos.
7 Dicen que el Señor no ve,
que el Dios de Jacob no se da cuenta.
8 ¡Entiendan, gente torpe y necia!
¿Cuándo podrán comprender?
9 ¿Acaso no habrá de oír
el que ha hecho los oídos?
¿Y acaso no habrá de ver
el que ha formado los ojos?
10 ¿Acaso no ha de castigar
el que corrige a las naciones?
¿Y acaso no ha de saber
el que instruye en el saber al hombre?
11 El Señor sabe que el hombre
sólo piensa tonterías.
12 Oh Señor,
feliz aquel a quien corriges
y le das tus enseñanzas
13 para que tenga tranquilidad
cuando lleguen los días malos,
mientras que al malvado
se le prepara la fosa.
14 El Señor no abandonará a su pueblo,
ni dejará solos a los suyos.
15 La justicia volverá a los tribunales,
y todo hombre honrado la seguirá.
16 ¿Quién se levantará a defenderme
de los malvados y malhechores?
17 Si el Señor no me hubiera ayudado,
yo estaría ya en el silencio de la muerte.
18 Cuando alguna vez dije: «Mis pies resbalan»,
tu amor, Señor, vino en mi ayuda.
19 En medio de las preocupaciones
que se agolpan en mi mente,
tú me das consuelo y alegría.
20 Tú no puedes ser amigo de jueces injustos,
que actúan mal y en contra de la ley;
21 que conspiran contra el inocente y honrado,
y lo condenan a muerte.
22 Pero el Señor es mi refugio;
mi Dios es la roca que me defiende.
23 El Señor hará que los malvados
sean destruidos por su propia maldad.
¡Nuestro Dios los destruirá!

God the Refuge of the Righteous
94 O Lord God, (A)to whom vengeance belongs—
O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O (B)Judge of the earth;
[a]Render punishment to the proud.
3 Lord, (C)how long will the wicked,
How long will the wicked triumph?
4 They (D)utter speech, and speak insolent things;
All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.
5 They break in pieces Your people, O Lord,
And afflict Your heritage.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger,
And murder the fatherless.
7 (E)Yet they say, “The Lord does not see,
Nor does the God of Jacob [b]understand.”
8 Understand, you senseless among the people;
And you fools, when will you be wise?
9 (F)He who planted the ear, shall He not hear?
He who formed the eye, shall He not see?
10 He who [c]instructs the [d]nations, shall He not correct,
He who teaches man knowledge?
11 The Lord (G)knows the thoughts of man,
That they are futile.
12 Blessed is the man whom You (H)instruct, O Lord,
And teach out of Your law,
13 That You may give him [e]rest from the days of adversity,
Until the pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not [f]cast off His people,
Nor will He forsake His inheritance.
15 But judgment will return to righteousness,
And all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?
Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Unless the Lord had been my help,
My soul would soon have settled in silence.
18 If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.
19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.
20 Shall (I)the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law,
Have fellowship with You?
21 They gather together against the life of the righteous,
And condemn (J)innocent blood.
22 But the Lord has been my defense,
And my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He has brought on them their own iniquity,
And shall [g]cut them off in their own wickedness;
The Lord our God shall cut them off.
