Oración pidiendo la continuada misericordia de Dios
Oración de David.
86 Inclina, oh Jehová, tu oído, y escúchame,
Porque estoy afligido y menesteroso.
2 Guarda mi alma, porque soy piadoso;
Salva tú, oh Dios mío, a tu siervo que en ti confía.
3 Ten misericordia de mí, oh Jehová;
Porque a ti clamo todo el día.
4 Alegra el alma de tu siervo,
Porque a ti, oh Señor, levanto mi alma.
5 Porque tú, Señor, eres bueno y perdonador,
Y grande en misericordia para con todos los que te invocan.
6 Escucha, oh Jehová, mi oración,
Y está atento a la voz de mis ruegos.
7 En el día de mi angustia te llamaré,
Porque tú me respondes.
8 Oh Señor, ninguno hay como tú entre los dioses,
Ni obras que igualen tus obras.
9 Todas las naciones que hiciste vendrán y adorarán delante de ti, Señor,
Y glorificarán tu nombre.(A)
10 Porque tú eres grande, y hacedor de maravillas;
Solo tú eres Dios.
11 Enséñame, oh Jehová, tu camino; caminaré yo en tu verdad;
Afirma mi corazón para que tema tu nombre.
12 Te alabaré, oh Jehová Dios mío, con todo mi corazón,
Y glorificaré tu nombre para siempre.
13 Porque tu misericordia es grande para conmigo,
Y has librado mi alma de las profundidades del Seol.
14 Oh Dios, los soberbios se levantaron contra mí,
Y conspiración de violentos ha buscado mi vida,
Y no te pusieron delante de sí.
15 Mas tú, Señor, Dios misericordioso y clemente,
Lento para la ira, y grande en misericordia y verdad,
16 Mírame, y ten misericordia de mí;
Da tu poder a tu siervo,
Y guarda al hijo de tu sierva.
17 Haz conmigo señal para bien,
Y véanla los que me aborrecen, y sean avergonzados;
Porque tú, Jehová, me ayudaste y me consolaste.

86 (1b) Señor, dígnate escucharme,
porque estoy muy triste y pobre;
2 protégeme, pues te soy fiel.
Tú eres mi Dios;
¡salva a este siervo tuyo que en ti confía!
3 Señor, ten compasión de mí,
que a ti clamo a todas horas.
4 Señor, alegra el ánimo de este siervo tuyo,
pues a ti dirijo mi oración.
5 Porque tú, Señor, eres bueno y perdonas;
eres todo amor con los que te invocan.
6 Señor, escucha mi oración,
¡atiende mi plegaria!
7 En mi angustia clamo a ti,
porque tú me respondes.
8 ¡No hay dios comparable a ti, Señor!
¡No hay nada que iguale a tus obras!
9 Oh Señor,
tú has formado a todas las naciones,
y ellas vendrán a ti para adorarte
y para glorificar tu nombre.
10 Porque sólo tú eres Dios;
¡tú eres grande y haces maravillas!
11 Oh Señor, enséñame tu camino,
para que yo lo siga fielmente.
Haz que mi corazón honre tu nombre.
12 Mi Señor y Dios,
te alabaré con todo el corazón
y glorificaré siempre tu nombre.
13 ¡Inmenso es tu amor por mí!
¡Me has librado de caer en el sepulcro!
14 Oh Dios,
una banda de insolentes y violentos,
que no te tienen presente,
se han puesto en contra mía y quieren matarme.
15 Pero tú, Señor,
eres Dios tierno y compasivo,
paciente, todo amor y verdad.
16 Mírame, ¡ten compasión de mí!
¡Salva a este siervo tuyo! ¡Dale tu fuerza!
17 Dame una clara prueba de tu bondad,
y que al verla se avergüencen los que me odian.
¡Tú, Señor, me das ayuda y consuelo!

A prayer for help
86 Lord, please listen to me,
and answer me!
I am weak and I need help.
2 I am your faithful servant,
so keep my life safe!
Please save me, my God,
for I trust in you.
3 My Lord, be kind to me.
All through the day,
I am calling to you for help.
4 Please make me happy deep inside,
for you are the one that I pray to, my Lord.
5 Yes, my Lord, you are very kind,
and you are ready to forgive people.
When anyone calls to you for help,
you love them with your faithful love.
6 Lord, hear my prayer!
Please listen when I call to you for help.
7 Whenever trouble comes to me,
I will pray to you.
I know that you will answer me.
8 There is no one like you, my Lord,
among all the gods.
Nobody can do the great things that you do.
9 You have made all the nations of the world,
and they will all come to worship you, my Lord.
They will agree that your name is great.
10 For you are great and you do great things.
You alone are God.
11 Lord, teach me how I should live.
Then I will obey your truth.
Teach me to serve you with all that I am,
so that I respect you with fear.
12 My Lord and my God,
I will thank you with all my strength.
I will praise your name for ever!
13 I know that you love me very much
with your faithful love.
You will continue to keep my life safe,
so that I do not go down into the deep hole of death.
14 God, proud people are attacking me.
Cruel men have joined together to kill me.
They do not respect you at all.
15 But you, my Lord, are a kind God
who forgives people.
You do not quickly become angry,
and your faithful love is very great.
We can always trust you
to do what you have promised.
16 Turn to me and be kind to me.
I am your servant, so make me strong.
Please rescue your slave!
17 Help me, so that I know you are pleased with me.
Then my enemies will see it,
and they will be ashamed.
They will know that you, Lord,
have helped me and comforted me.

A prayer of David.
1 Hear me, Lord, and answer(A) me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.(B)
You are my God; 3 have mercy(C) on me, Lord,
for I call(D) to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust(E) in you.
5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love(F) to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, Lord;
listen to my cry(G) for mercy.
7 When I am in distress,(H) I call(I) to you,
because you answer(J) me.
8 Among the gods(K) there is none like you,(L) Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made
will come(M) and worship(N) before you, Lord;
they will bring glory(O) to your name.
10 For you are great(P) and do marvelous deeds;(Q)
you alone(R) are God.
11 Teach me your way,(S) Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;(T)
give me an undivided(U) heart,
that I may fear(V) your name.
12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;(W)
I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me(X) from the depths,
from the realm of the dead.(Y)
14 Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—
they have no regard for you.(Z)
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious(AA) God,
slow to anger,(AB) abounding(AC) in love and faithfulness.(AD)
16 Turn to me(AE) and have mercy(AF) on me;
show your strength(AG) in behalf of your servant;
save me, because I serve you
just as my mother did.(AH)
17 Give me a sign(AI) of your goodness,
that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
