84 Señor de los ejércitos,
¡cuán grato es habitar en tu templo!
2 ¡Mi alma anhela ardientemente
estar, Señor, en tus atrios!
¡A ti, Dios de la vida, elevan su canto
mi corazón y todo mi ser!
3 Hasta los gorriones y las golondrinas
hallan dónde anidar a sus polluelos:
¡cerca de tus altares, Señor de los ejércitos,
rey mío y Dios mío!
4 ¡Cuán felices son los que habitan en tu templo!
¡Todo el tiempo te cantan alabanzas!
5 ¡Cuán felices son los que hallan fuerzas en ti,
los que ponen su corazón en tus caminos!
6 Cuando cruzan por el valle de las lágrimas,
cambian su aridez en un manantial
al llenar la lluvia los estanques.
7 Van de victoria en victoria,
hasta llegar a verte, oh Dios, en Sión.
8 Señor, Dios de los ejércitos, ¡oye mi oración!
Dios de Jacob, ¡escúchame!
9 ¡Míranos, Dios y escudo nuestro,
y posa la mirada en el rostro de tu ungido!
10 Es mejor pasar un día en tus atrios
que vivir mil días fuera de ellos.
¡Prefiero estar a la puerta de tu templo, oh Dios,
que vivir en las mansiones de la maldad!
11 Tú, Dios y Señor, eres sol y escudo;
tú, Señor, otorgas bondad y gloria
a los que siguen el camino recto,
y no les niegas ningún bien.
12 Señor de los ejércitos,
¡cuán dichoso es el que en ti confía!

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,(A)
Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns,(B) even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.(C)
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,(D)
Lord Almighty,(E) my King(F) and my God.(G)
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.[c]
5 Blessed are those whose strength(H) is in you,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.(I)
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
they make it a place of springs;(J)
the autumn(K) rains also cover it with pools.[d]
7 They go from strength to strength,(L)
till each appears(M) before God in Zion.(N)
8 Hear my prayer,(O) Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, God of Jacob.
9 Look on our shield,[e](P) O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.(Q)
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper(R) in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun(S) and shield;(T)
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold(U)
from those whose walk is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
blessed(V) is the one who trusts in you.
