84 Como eu amo o teu Templo,
ó Senhor Todo-Poderoso!
2 Como eu gostaria de estar ali!
Tenho saudade dos pátios do Templo
de Deus, o Senhor.
Com todo o meu ser, canto com alegria
ao Deus vivo.
3 Ó Senhor Todo-Poderoso,
meu Rei e meu Deus,
perto dos teus altares
os pardais constroem o seu ninho,
e as andorinhas fazem a sua casa,
onde cuidam dos seus filhotes.
4 Felizes são os que moram na tua casa,
sempre cantando louvores a ti!
5 Felizes são aqueles que de ti
recebem forças
e que desejam andar pelas estradas
que levam ao monte Sião!
6 Quando eles passam
pelo Vale das Lágrimas,
ele fica cheio de fontes de água,
e as primeiras chuvas
o cobrem de bênçãos.
7 Enquanto vão indo, a força deles
vai aumentando;
eles verão o Deus dos deuses em Sião.
8 Escuta a minha oração,
ó Senhor, Deus Todo-Poderoso!
Ouve-me, ó Deus de Jacó!
9 Ó Deus, abençoa o nosso protetor,
o rei que tu escolheste!
10 É melhor passar um dia no teu Templo
do que mil dias em qualquer outro lugar.
Eu gostaria mais de ficar
no portão de entrada
da casa do meu Deus
do que morar nas casas dos maus.
11 O Senhor Deus é a nossa luz
e o nosso escudo.
Ele ama e honra
os que fazem o que é certo
e lhes dá tudo o que é bom.
12 Ó Senhor Todo-Poderoso,
como são felizes
aqueles que confiam em ti!

The Blessedness of Dwelling in the House of God

84 How (B)lovely [b]is Your tabernacle,
O Lord of hosts!
2 (C)My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
And the swallow a nest for herself,
Where she may lay her young—
Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts,
My King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your (D)house;
They will still be praising You. Selah
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
6 As they pass through the Valley (E)of [c]Baca,
They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with [d]pools.
7 They go (F)from strength to strength;
[e]Each one (G)appears before God in Zion.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
9 (H)O God, behold our shield,
And look upon the face of Your [f]anointed.
10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather [g]be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is (I)a sun and (J)shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
(K)No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
(L)Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,(A)
Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns,(B) even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.(C)
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,(D)
Lord Almighty,(E) my King(F) and my God.(G)
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.[c]
5 Blessed are those whose strength(H) is in you,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.(I)
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
they make it a place of springs;(J)
the autumn(K) rains also cover it with pools.[d]
7 They go from strength to strength,(L)
till each appears(M) before God in Zion.(N)
8 Hear my prayer,(O) Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, God of Jacob.
9 Look on our shield,[e](P) O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.(Q)
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper(R) in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun(S) and shield;(T)
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold(U)
from those whose walk is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
blessed(V) is the one who trusts in you.

3 The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may put her young:
Your (D)altars, Lord of armies,
(E)My King and my God.
4 (F)Blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are (G)ever praising You. Selah
5 Blessed is the person whose (H)strength is in You,
In [b]whose heart are the (I)roads to Zion!
6 Passing through the Valley of [c]Baca they make it a [d]spring;
The (J)early rain also covers it with blessings.
