84 Dios del universo,
¡qué bello es tu templo,
la casa donde vives!
2 Deseo con toda el alma
estar en los patios de tu templo;
¡me muero por llegar a ellos!
Tú eres el Dios de la vida,
por eso te canto alegre
con todas las fuerzas de mi corazón.
3 Mi Dios y rey,
Dios del universo,
cerca de tu altar
gorriones y golondrinas
hallan lugar para sus nidos
y allí ponen a sus polluelos.
4 ¡Qué felices son
los que viven en tu templo!
¡Nunca dejan de alabarte!
5 ¡Qué felices son
los que de ti reciben fuerzas,
y de todo corazón desean
venir hasta tu templo!
6 Cuando cruzan el valle del Llanto,
lo convierten en manantial;
hasta las lluvias tempranas
cubren el valle con sus bendiciones.
7 Mientras más avanzan,
más fuerzas tienen,
y cuando llegan a tu templo
te contemplan a ti, el Dios verdadero.
8 Dios mío,
¡atiéndeme!
Dios de Israel,
Dios del universo,
¡escucha mi oración!
9 Dios y protector nuestro,
muéstranos tu bondad,
pues somos tu pueblo elegido.
10 Prefiero pasar un día en tu templo
que estar mil días lejos de él;
prefiero dedicarme a barrer tu templo
que convivir con los malvados.
11 Señor y Dios nuestro,
tú nos das calor y protección;
nos das honor y gloria.
Tu bondad no tiene medida
para los que siempre hacen lo bueno.

84 ¡Cuán hermosas son tus moradas,
Señor de los Ejércitos!
2 Anhelo con el alma los atrios del Señor;
casi agonizo por estar en ellos.
Con el corazón, con todo el cuerpo,
canto alegre al Dios vivo.
3 Señor de los Ejércitos, Rey mío y Dios mío,
aun el gorrión halla casa cerca de tus altares;
también la golondrina hace allí su nido,
para poner sus polluelos.
4 Dichosos los que habitan en tu Templo
y sin cesar te alaban. Selah
5 Dichoso el que tiene en ti su fortaleza,
que de corazón camina por tus sendas.
6 Cuando pasa por el valle de las Lágrimas
lo convierte en región de manantiales;
también las lluvias tempranas
cubren de bendiciones el valle.
7 Según avanzan los peregrinos, cobran más fuerzas,
hasta que contemplan a Dios en Sión.
8 Oye mi oración, Señor Dios de los Ejércitos;
escúchame, Dios de Jacob. Selah
9 Oh Dios, escudo nuestro,
pon sobre tu ungido tus ojos bondadosos.
10 Vale más pasar un día en tus atrios
que mil fuera de ellos;
prefiero cuidar la entrada de la casa de mi Dios
que habitar entre los malvados.
11 El Señor es sol y escudo;
Dios nos concede honor y gloria.
El Señor no niega sus bondades
a los que se conducen con integridad.

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,(A)
Lord Almighty!
2 My soul yearns,(B) even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.(C)
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,(D)
Lord Almighty,(E) my King(F) and my God.(G)
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.[c]
5 Blessed are those whose strength(H) is in you,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.(I)
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
they make it a place of springs;(J)
the autumn(K) rains also cover it with pools.[d]
7 They go from strength to strength,(L)
till each appears(M) before God in Zion.(N)
8 Hear my prayer,(O) Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, God of Jacob.
9 Look on our shield,[e](P) O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.(Q)
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper(R) in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun(S) and shield;(T)
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold(U)
from those whose walk is blameless.
12 Lord Almighty,
blessed(V) is the one who trusts in you.

The journey to Zion
84 Lord Almighty,
the temple where you live is beautiful!
2 I want very much to go to the Lord's temple.
I very much want to be in the temple yards.
With all that I am, and with great joy,
I sing to you, the God who lives for ever!
3 In your temple,
even sparrows[a] have their homes.
Swallows builds their nests there,
to take care of their babies.
They can be near to your altars,
Lord Almighty, my king and my God.
4 You have truly blessed those people
who live in your temple.
They can praise you all the time!
Selah.
5 You have blessed those people
who come to you to make them strong.
They love to travel to your temple in Zion.
6 As they go through the dry Baka valley,
springs of water appear there!
The autumn rain covers the valley with pools.
7 The people become stronger as they travel,
until each one meets with God in Zion.[b]
8 Lord God Almighty,
please listen to my prayer!
God of Jacob, hear me!
Selah.
9 God, look at our king,
the one who protects us like a shield!
Take care of the king that you have chosen.
10 I would rather be near your temple for one day
than have a thousand days anywhere else.
I would rather stand near the door of God's temple
than live among wicked people.
11 The Lord God is like a sun
and a shield for his people.
He is kind to his people
and he gives glory to them.
To those who do what is right,
he gives every good thing that they need.
12 Lord Almighty,
you have truly blessed everyone who trusts in you!
