Salmo de Asaf.

82 Dios preside la corte de los cielos;
    pronuncia juicio en medio de los seres celestiales:
«¿Hasta cuándo dictarán decisiones injustas
    que favorecen a los malvados? Interludio

»Hagan justicia al pobre y al huérfano;
    defiendan los derechos de los oprimidos y de los desposeídos.
Rescaten al pobre y al indefenso;
    líbrenlos de las garras de los malvados.
Pero esos opresores no saben nada;
    ¡son tan ignorantes!
Andan errantes en la oscuridad
    mientras el mundo entero se estremece hasta los cimientos.
Yo digo: “Ustedes son dioses;
    son todos hijos del Altísimo.
Pero morirán como simples mortales
    y caerán como cualquier otro gobernante”».

Levántate, oh Dios, y juzga a la tierra,
    porque todas las naciones te pertenecen.

Psalm 82

A Plea for Righteous Judgment

A psalm of Asaph.(A)

God has taken His place in the divine assembly;
He judges among the gods:[a](B)
“How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked?(C)Selah
Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless;
uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.(D)
Rescue the poor and needy;
save them from the power of the wicked.”(E)

They do not know or understand;
they wander in darkness.(F)
All the foundations of the earth are shaken.(G)

I said, “You are gods;(H)
you are all sons of the Most High.(I)
However, you will die like men
and fall like any other ruler.”(J)

Rise up, God, judge the earth,
for all the nations belong to You.(K)

Footnotes

  1. Psalm 82:1 Or the heavenly beings, or the earthly rulers; lit elohim

82 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
