Salmo de Asaf.
1 Oh Dios, vinieron los gentiles a tu heredad; contaminaron el templo de tu santidad; pusieron a Jerusalén en montones.
2 Dieron los cuerpos de tus esclavos por comida a las aves de los cielos; la carne de los tuyos a las bestias de la tierra.
3 Derramaron su sangre como agua en los alrededores de Jerusalén; y no hubo quién los enterrara.
4 Somos afrentados de nuestros vecinos, escarnecidos y burlados de los que están en nuestros alrededores.
5 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh SEÑOR? ¿Has de estar airado para siempre? ¿Arderá como fuego tu celo?
6 ¶ Derrama tu ira sobre los gentiles que no te conocen, y sobre los reinos que no invocan tu Nombre.
7 Porque han consumido a Jacob, y su morada han asolado.
8 No recuerdes contra nosotros las iniquidades antiguas; anticípanos pronto tus misericordias, porque estamos muy pobres.
9 Ayúdanos, oh Dios, salud nuestra, por la honra de tu Nombre; y líbranos, y purga nuestros pecados por causa de tu Nombre.
10 Porque dirán los gentiles: ¿Dónde está su Dios? Sea notorio en los gentiles, delante de nuestros ojos, la venganza de la sangre de tus esclavos, que se ha derramado.
11 Entre delante de ti el gemido de los presos; conforme a la grandeza de tu brazo preserva a los sentenciados a muerte.
12 Y devuelve a nuestros vecinos en su seno siete tantos de su deshonra, con que te han deshonrado, oh SEÑOR.
13 Y nosotros, pueblo tuyo, y ovejas de tu prado, te alabaremos para siempre; por generación y generación cantaremos tus alabanzas.

Himno de Asaf.
79 Dios nuestro,
naciones enemigas nos han invadido,
han entrado en tu santo templo
y han dejado en ruinas a Jerusalén.
2 Mataron a tus fieles servidores,
y echaron sus cadáveres al campo
para que los devoren
los buitres y las bestias salvajes.
3 Por toda Jerusalén
derramaron la sangre de los muertos,
y a los muertos nadie los entierra.
4 Los pueblos vecinos
se burlan de nosotros;
¡somos el blanco de sus burlas!
5 Dios nuestro,
¿cuánto más tendremos que esperar?
¿Vas a estar siempre enojado
y ardiendo de enojo, como el fuego?
6 ¡Enójate entonces con las naciones
que no quieren reconocerte!
¡Enójate con los reinos
que no te reconocen como Dios!
7 A Israel lo han destruido;
al país lo han dejado en ruinas.
8 No nos tomes en cuenta
los pecados del pasado;
¡muéstranos tu amor
y ven pronto a nuestro encuentro,
pues grande es nuestra miseria!
9 Dios y salvador nuestro,
¡ayúdanos!
Por lo grandioso que eres,
¡líbranos y perdona nuestros pecados!
10 ¿Por qué tienen que decirnos
las naciones enemigas:
«Dios ya los ha abandonado»?
¿No ves que han matado a tu pueblo
y han derramado su sangre?
¡Cóbrales su muerte!
¡Haz que esas malvadas naciones
sufran la muerte en carne propia,
y a nosotros, déjanos ser testigos!
11 Escucha, por favor,
las quejas de los prisioneros,
y salva con tu gran poder
a los condenados a muerte.
12 Dios nuestro,
haz que nuestros vecinos
sufran en carne propia
las ofensas que te han hecho.

A psalm of Asaph.
1 O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance;(A)
they have defiled(B) your holy temple,
they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.(C)
2 They have left the dead bodies of your servants
as food for the birds of the sky,(D)
the flesh of your own people for the animals of the wild.(E)
3 They have poured out blood like water
all around Jerusalem,
and there is no one to bury(F) the dead.(G)
4 We are objects of contempt to our neighbors,
of scorn(H) and derision to those around us.(I)
5 How long,(J) Lord? Will you be angry(K) forever?
How long will your jealousy burn like fire?(L)
6 Pour out your wrath(M) on the nations
that do not acknowledge(N) you,
on the kingdoms
that do not call on your name;(O)
7 for they have devoured(P) Jacob
and devastated his homeland.
8 Do not hold against us the sins of past generations;(Q)
may your mercy come quickly to meet us,
for we are in desperate need.(R)
9 Help us,(S) God our Savior,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us and forgive our sins
for your name’s sake.(T)
10 Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God?”(U)
Before our eyes, make known among the nations
that you avenge(V) the outpoured blood(W) of your servants.
11 May the groans of the prisoners come before you;
with your strong arm preserve those condemned to die.
12 Pay back into the laps(X) of our neighbors seven times(Y)
the contempt they have hurled at you, Lord.
13 Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture,(Z)
will praise you forever;(AA)
from generation to generation
we will proclaim your praise.

79 O God, (B)the nations have come into your (C)inheritance;
they have defiled your (D)holy temple;
they have (E)laid Jerusalem in ruins.
2 They have given (F)the bodies of your servants
to the birds of the heavens for food,
the flesh of your (G)faithful to (H)the beasts of the earth.
3 They have poured out their blood like water
all around Jerusalem,
and there was (I)no one to bury them.
4 We have become (J)a taunt to our neighbors,
(K)mocked and derided by those around us.
5 (L)How long, O Lord? Will you be angry (M)forever?
Will your (N)jealousy (O)burn like fire?
6 (P)Pour out your anger on the nations
that (Q)do not know you,
and on the kingdoms
that (R)do not call upon your name!
7 For they have devoured Jacob
and laid waste his habitation.
8 (S)Do not remember against us (T)our former iniquities;[a]
let your compassion come speedily to meet us,
for we are (U)brought very low.
9 (V)Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and (W)atone for our sins,

“Where is their God?”
Let (Z)the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants
be known among the nations before our eyes!
