El reino de un rey justo
Para Salomón.
72 Oh Dios, da tus juicios al rey,
Y tu justicia al hijo del rey.
2 Él juzgará a tu pueblo con justicia,
Y a tus afligidos con juicio.
3 Los montes llevarán paz al pueblo,
Y los collados justicia.
4 Juzgará a los afligidos del pueblo,
Salvará a los hijos del menesteroso,
Y aplastará al opresor.
5 Te temerán mientras duren el sol
Y la luna, de generación en generación.
6 Descenderá como la lluvia sobre la hierba cortada;
Como el rocío que destila sobre la tierra.
7 Florecerá en sus días justicia,
Y muchedumbre de paz, hasta que no haya luna.
8 Dominará de mar a mar,
Y desde el río hasta los confines de la tierra.(A)
9 Ante él se postrarán los moradores del desierto,
Y sus enemigos lamerán el polvo.
10 Los reyes de Tarsis y de las costas traerán presentes;
Los reyes de Sabá y de Seba ofrecerán dones.
11 Todos los reyes se postrarán delante de él;
Todas las naciones le servirán.
12 Porque él librará al menesteroso que clamare,
Y al afligido que no tuviere quien le socorra.
13 Tendrá misericordia del pobre y del menesteroso,
Y salvará la vida de los pobres.
14 De engaño y de violencia redimirá sus almas,
Y la sangre de ellos será preciosa ante sus ojos.
15 Vivirá, y se le dará del oro de Sabá,
Y se orará por él continuamente;
Todo el día se le bendecirá.
16 Será echado un puñado de grano en la tierra, en las cumbres de los montes;
Su fruto hará ruido como el Líbano,
Y los de la ciudad florecerán como la hierba de la tierra.
17 Será su nombre para siempre,
Se perpetuará su nombre mientras dure el sol.
Benditas serán en él todas las naciones;
Lo llamarán bienaventurado.
18 Bendito Jehová Dios, el Dios de Israel,
El único que hace maravillas.
19 Bendito su nombre glorioso para siempre,
Y toda la tierra sea llena de su gloria.

Länge leve fredskungen
72 Gud, hjälp kungen att i ditt ställe döma med rättvisa. Låt din rättfärdighet också bli hans.
2 Hjälp honom att regera opartiskt över ditt folk, och ge de rättslösa sin rätt.
3 När han regerar ska fred och välstånd råda i landet.
4 Han ska försvara de fattiga och behövande och krossa deras förtryckare.
5 Han ska regera så länge jorden består, och så länge som människan finns.
6 Hans sätt att styra landet ska vara som ett uppfriskande vårregn, som med sina skurar vattnar jorden!
7 Godhet och rättvisa ska blomstra under hans regering och fred och välstånd ska råda till tidens slut.
8 Hans välde ska sträcka sig från hav till hav, från floden Eufrat till jordens ändar.
9 Folken som bor i öknen ska böja sig för honom och hans fiender ska kasta sig ner med ansiktet mot marken.
10 Kungarna runt Medelhavet, de som kommer från Tarsis och öarna, och kungarna från Arabien och Etiopien, ska alla komma med sina gåvor.
11 Ja, kungar ska komma från alla håll och alla ska de buga sig för honom! Ja, alla folk ska tjäna honom!
12 Han tar hand om hjälplösa och fattiga när de ropar till honom.
13 Han känner medlidande med svaga och behövande, och bevarar dem från en säker död.
14 Han räddar dem undan våld och förtryck, för deras liv är dyrbara för honom.
15 Länge leve kungen! Han ska få guld från Arabien, och man ska alltid be för honom. Hans folk ska alltid välsigna honom.
16 Låt det bli rika skördar i hela landet. Låt skördarna på bergssluttningarna bli lika frodiga som Libanons skogar. Låt våra städer bli lika fyllda av människor som ängarna är fyllda med gräs.
17 Kungens namn ska man aldrig glömma. Så länge solen finns till ska människor tala om honom, och alla ska bli välsignade av honom, ja, alla folk kommer att prisa honom.
18 Välsignad vare Herren Gud, Israels Gud, han som själv gör allt detta underbara!
19 Välsignat vare hans namn i evighet! Hela jorden ska fyllas av hans härlighet! Amen, ja, amen!

Of Solomon.
1 Endow the king with your justice,(A) O God,
the royal son with your righteousness.
2 May he judge your people in righteousness,(B)
your afflicted ones with justice.
3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
4 May he defend the afflicted(C) among the people
and save the children of the needy;(D)
may he crush the oppressor.(E)
5 May he endure[a](F) as long as the sun,
as long as the moon, through all generations.(G)
6 May he be like rain(H) falling on a mown field,
like showers watering the earth.
7 In his days may the righteous flourish(I)
and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
8 May he rule from sea to sea
and from the River[b](J) to the ends of the earth.(K)
9 May the desert tribes bow before him
and his enemies lick the dust.
10 May the kings of Tarshish(L) and of distant shores(M)
bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba(N) and Seba
present him gifts.(O)
11 May all kings bow down(P) to him
and all nations serve(Q) him.
12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
13 He will take pity(R) on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
14 He will rescue(S) them from oppression and violence,
for precious(T) is their blood in his sight.
15 Long may he live!
May gold from Sheba(U) be given him.
May people ever pray for him
and bless him all day long.(V)
16 May grain(W) abound throughout the land;
on the tops of the hills may it sway.
May the crops(X) flourish like Lebanon(Y)
and thrive[c] like the grass of the field.(Z)
17 May his name endure forever;(AA)
may it continue as long as the sun.(AB)
18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,(AD)
who alone does marvelous deeds.(AE)
