Plegaria pidiendo protección contra enemigos ocultos
Al músico principal. Salmo de David
64 Escucha, Dios, la voz de mi queja;
guarda mi vida del miedo al enemigo.
2 Escóndeme del plan secreto de los malignos,
de la conspiración de los malvados
3 que afilan como espada su lengua;
lanzan como una saeta suya la palabra amarga,
4 para disparar a escondidas contra el íntegro;
de repente le disparan, y no temen.
5 Obstinados en su perverso designio,
tratan de esconder los lazos,
y dicen: «¿Quién los ha de ver?»
6 Planean maldades,
hacen una investigación exacta;
el íntimo pensamiento de cada uno de ellos, así como su corazón, es profundo.
7 Pero Dios los herirá con saeta;
de repente llegarán sus plagas.
8 Sus propias lenguas los harán caer.
Se espantarán todos los que los vean.
9 Temerán entonces todos los hombres,
y anunciarán la obra de Dios,
y entenderán sus hechos.
10 Se alegrará el justo en Jehová
y confiará en él;
¡se gloriarán todos los rectos de corazón!

Oración pidiendo la protección de Dios
(1) Del maestro de coro. Salmo de David.
64 (2) Dios mío, escucha mi queja;
protege mi vida de terribles enemigos.
2 (3) Escóndeme de los malvados
y de sus planes secretos;
líbrame de la conspiración de los malvados,
3 (4) que afilan su lengua como espada
y lanzan como flechas palabras venenosas.
4 (5) Desde su escondite disparan contra el inocente;
disparan por sorpresa y sin temor.
5 (6) Se animan entre sí a hacer lo malo;
planean poner trampas escondidas
y piensan que nadie podrá verlos,
6 (7) que nadie investigará sus maldades.
Pero aquel que puede conocer
los pensamientos más íntimos del hombre,
hará la investigación.
7 (8) Dios los herirá con sus flechas,
los herirá por sorpresa;
8 (9) caerán por sus propias palabras,
y quienes los vean se burlarán de ellos.
9 (10) Todos entonces honrarán a Dios
y hablarán de sus acciones;
comprenderán lo que él ha hecho.
10 (11) El hombre bueno se alegrará en el Señor
y buscará protección en él,
y todos los hombres honrados
se sentirán satisfechos.

64 1-2 Lord, listen to my complaint: Oh, preserve my life from the conspiracy of these wicked men, these gangs of criminals. 3 They cut me down with sharpened tongues; they aim their bitter words like arrows straight at my heart. 4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent. Suddenly the deed is done, yet they are not afraid. 5 They encourage each other to do evil. They meet in secret to set their traps. “He will never notice them here,” they say. 6 They keep a sharp lookout for opportunities of crime. They spend long hours with all their endless evil thoughts and plans.[a]
7 But God himself will shoot them down. Suddenly his arrow will pierce them. 8 They will stagger backward, destroyed by those they spoke against. All who see it happening will scoff at them. 9 Then everyone shall stand in awe and confess the greatness of the miracles of God; at last they will realize what amazing things he does. 10 And the godly shall rejoice in the Lord, and trust and praise him.

2 Hide me from the conspiracy(C) of the wicked,(D)
from the plots of evildoers.
3 They sharpen their tongues like swords(E)
and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.(F)
4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent;(G)
they shoot suddenly, without fear.(H)
5 They encourage each other in evil plans,
they talk about hiding their snares;(I)
they say, “Who will see it[b]?”(J)
6 They plot injustice and say,
“We have devised a perfect plan!”
Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.
