¿Cómo te jactas del mal?
52 Al maestro del coro. Poema de David. 2 Cuando vino Doeg el edomita a decirle a Saúl: “David ha ido a casa de Ajimélec”.
3 ¿Por qué, engreído, te jactas del mal
si el amor de Dios es constante?
4 Tú maquinas maldades,
tu lengua, afilada navaja,
difunde calumnias.
5 Prefieres el mal al bien,
la mentira a la sinceridad.
6 Amas la palabra que destruye
y es engañosa tu lengua.
7 Dios te aniquilará para siempre,
te expulsará, te sacará de tu tienda,
te arrancará de la tierra de los vivos. [ Pausa]
8 Y los justos lo verán asustados
y empezarán a reírse de él:
9 “Mira, esta es la persona
que no hizo de Dios su fortaleza,
que confió en su inmensa riqueza,
que se refugió en su maldad.”
10 Pero yo soy frondoso olivo
en la morada de Dios
y por siempre jamás
confío en su amor.
11 Yo siempre te alabaré
por lo que has hecho
y proclamaré tu buen nombre
ante los que te son fieles.

English Standard Version
The Steadfast Love of God Endures
To the choirmaster. A Maskil[a] of David, when (A)Doeg, the Edomite, came and told Saul, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.”
52 Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man?
The steadfast love of God endures all the day.
2 Your (B)tongue plots destruction,
like (C)a sharp razor, you (D)worker of deceit.
3 You love evil more than good,
and (E)lying more than speaking what is right. Selah
4 You love all words that devour,
O deceitful tongue.
5 But God will break you down forever;
he will snatch and (F)tear you from your tent;
he will uproot you from (G)the land of the living. Selah
6 The righteous shall (H)see and fear,
and shall (I)laugh at him, saying,
7 “See the man who would not make
God his refuge,
but (J)trusted in the abundance of his riches
and sought refuge in his own destruction!”[b]
8 But I am like (K)a green olive tree
in the house of God.
I trust in the steadfast love of God
forever and ever.
9 I will thank you forever,
because you have done it.
I will wait for your name, (L)for it is good,
in the presence of the (M)godly.

The End of the Wicked and the Peace of the Godly
To the Chief Musician. A [a]Contemplation of David (A)when Doeg the Edomite went and (B)told Saul, and said to him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.”
52 Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man?
The goodness of God endures continually.
2 Your tongue devises destruction,
Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 You love evil more than good,
Lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah
4 You love all devouring words,
You deceitful tongue.
5 God shall likewise destroy you forever;
He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place,
And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
6 The righteous also shall see and fear,
And shall laugh at him, saying,
7 “Here is the man who did not make God his strength,
But trusted in the abundance of his riches,
And strengthened himself in his [b]wickedness.”
8 But I am (C)like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.
9 I will praise You forever,
Because You have done it;
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your name, for it [c]is good.
