Al director musical. Salmo de David.
41 Dichoso el que piensa en el débil;
el Señor lo librará en el día de la desgracia.
2 El Señor lo protegerá y lo mantendrá con vida;
lo hará dichoso en la tierra
y no lo entregará al capricho de sus enemigos.
3 El Señor lo sostendrá en el lecho del dolor;
cuando caiga enfermo lo restaurará.
4 Yo he dicho:
«Señor, ten piedad de mí;
sáname, pues contra ti he pecado».
5 Mis enemigos hablan males contra mí:
«¿Cuándo morirá?
¿Cuándo su nombre pasará al olvido?».
6 Si alguno viene a verme, me dice mentiras;
su corazón acumula maldad
y luego al salir lo cuenta.
7 Todos mis enemigos se juntan y murmuran contra mí;
me hacen responsable de mi mal. Dicen:
8 «Le ha afligido un mal devastador;
de esa cama no volverá a levantarse».
9 Hasta mi amigo cercano,
en quien yo confiaba
y que compartía el pan conmigo,
se ha vuelto contra mí.
10 Pero tú, Señor, ten piedad de mí;
haz que vuelva a levantarme para darles su merecido.
11 En esto conozco que te he agradado:
en que mi enemigo no triunfe sobre mí.
12 Por mi integridad me sostienes
y en tu presencia me mantendrás para siempre.
13 Bendito sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel,
por los siglos de los siglos.

41 Bienaventurado el que piensa en el pobre;
en el día malo lo librará Jehová.
2 Jehová lo guardará, le dará vida
y será bienaventurado en la tierra.
No lo entregarás a la voluntad de sus enemigos.
3 Jehová lo sostendrá en el lecho del dolor;
ablandará su cama en la enfermedad.
4 Yo dije: «Jehová, ten misericordia de mí,
sana mi alma, porque contra ti he pecado.»
5 Mis enemigos hablan mal de mí, preguntando:
«¿Cuándo morirá y perecerá su nombre?»
6 Y si vienen a verme, hablan mentira;
recogen malas noticias
y al salir afuera las divulgan.
7 Reunidos murmuran contra mí todos los que me aborrecen;
contra mí piensan mal, diciendo:
8 «Cosa maligna se ha apoderado de él;
el que cayó en cama no volverá a levantarse.»
9 Aun el hombre de mi paz, en quien yo confiaba,
el que de mi pan comía,
alzó el pie contra mí.
10 Mas tú, Jehová, ten misericordia de mí y hazme levantar,
y les daré el pago.
11 En esto conoceré que te he agradado:
en que mi enemigo no se alegre de mí.
12 En cuanto a mí, en mi integridad me has sustentado
y me has hecho estar delante de ti para siempre.
13 ¡Bendito sea Jehová, el Dios de Israel,
por los siglos de los siglos!

The psalmist in sickness complains of enemies and false friends.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
41 Blessed is he that considereth [a]the poor:
Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.
2 Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive,
And he shall be blessed [b]upon the earth;
And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.
3 Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing:
Thou [c]makest all his bed in his sickness.
4 I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me:
Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5 Mine enemies speak evil against me, saying,
When will he die, and his name perish?
6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh falsehood;
His heart gathereth iniquity to itself:
When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
7 All that hate me whisper together against me;
Against me do they devise my hurt.
8 [d]An evil disease, say they, [e]cleaveth fast unto him;
And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,
Who did eat of my bread,
Hath lifted up his heel against me.
10 But thou, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me, and raise me up,
That I may requite them.
11 By this I know that thou delightest in me,
Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity,
And settest me before thy face for ever.
13 Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel,
From everlasting and to everlasting.

1 Blessed(A) are those who have regard for the weak;(B)
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.(C)
2 The Lord protects(D) and preserves them—(E)
they are counted among the blessed in the land—(F)
he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.(G)
3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed(H)
and restores them from their bed of illness.(I)
4 I said, “Have mercy(J) on me, Lord;
heal(K) me, for I have sinned(L) against you.”
5 My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die and his name perish?(M)”
6 When one of them comes to see me,
he speaks falsely,(N) while his heart gathers slander;(O)
then he goes out and spreads(P) it around.
7 All my enemies whisper together(Q) against me;
they imagine the worst for me, saying,
8 “A vile disease has afflicted him;
he will never get up(R) from the place where he lies.”
9 Even my close friend,(S)
someone I trusted,
one who shared my bread,
