Oración en la enfermedad y en la tristeza
Para el director del coro. Salmo de David.
41 Bienaventurado el que piensa en el pobre[a](A);
en el día del mal[b] el Señor lo librará(B).
2 El Señor lo protegerá y lo mantendrá con vida(C),
y será bienaventurado[c] sobre la tierra(D);
y no lo entregarás a la voluntad de sus enemigos(E).
3 El Señor lo sostendrá en su lecho de enfermo;
en su enfermedad, restaurarás su salud[d].
4 Yo dije: Oh Señor, ten piedad de mí;
sana mi alma(F), porque contra ti he pecado(G).
5 Mis enemigos hablan mal contra mí(H), diciendo:
¿Cuándo morirá y perecerá su nombre?
6 Y si alguno viene a verme, habla falsedades[e](I);
su corazón recoge iniquidad para sí;
cuando sale fuera, lo publica.
7 Todos los que me odian murmuran a una contra mí;
traman hacerme daño(J), diciendo:
8 Una cosa del demonio[f] ha sido derramada sobre[g] él,
así que cuando se acueste, no volverá a levantarse(K).
9 Aun mi íntimo amigo en quien yo confiaba,
el que de mi pan comía,
contra mí ha levantado su calcañar(L).
10 Pero tú, oh Señor, ten piedad de mí y levántame(M),
para que yo les pague como se merecen.
11 Por esto sé que conmigo te complaces(N),
porque mi enemigo no canta victoria[h] sobre mí(O).
12 En cuanto a mí, me mantienes en mi integridad(P),
y me afirmas en tu presencia para siempre(Q).
13 Bendito sea el Señor, Dios de Israel,
desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad.

41 ¡Dichoso aquél que piensa en los pobres!
En los días malos el Señor lo ayudará.
2 El Señor lo cuidará y le dará vida,
lo hará vivir feliz en la tierra,
y no lo dejará caer en manos de sus enemigos.
3 Cuando esté enfermo, el Señor lo sustentará;
suavizará sus males mientras recobra la salud.
4 Yo le pido al Señor que me tenga compasión,
que me sane, pues he pecado contra él.
5 Mis enemigos hablan mal de mí, y dicen:
«¿Cuándo morirá? ¿Cuándo será olvidado?»
6 Si vienen a verme, sólo dicen sandeces;
guardan en su mente las malas noticias,
y en cuanto salen a la calle las divulgan.
7 Todos los que me odian se unen contra mí
y sólo piensan malas cosas. Hasta dicen:
8 «Lo que tiene es cosa del demonio;
cayó en cama, y no volverá a levantarse.»
9 Aun mi mejor amigo, en quien yo confiaba,
el que comía conmigo, me ha traicionado.(A)
10 Pero tú, Señor, ¡ten compasión de mí!
¡devuélveme la salud, y les daré su merecido!
11 Con esto sabré que soy de tu agrado:
si mi enemigo no llega a burlarse de mí.
12 Y a mí, ¡sosténme por causa de mi integridad!
¡permíteme estar en tu presencia para siempre!
13 ¡Bendito sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel,

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 Blessed(A) are those who have regard for the weak;(B)
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.(C)
2 The Lord protects(D) and preserves them—(E)
they are counted among the blessed in the land—(F)
he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.(G)
3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed(H)
and restores them from their bed of illness.(I)
4 I said, “Have mercy(J) on me, Lord;
heal(K) me, for I have sinned(L) against you.”
5 My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die and his name perish?(M)”
6 When one of them comes to see me,
he speaks falsely,(N) while his heart gathers slander;(O)
then he goes out and spreads(P) it around.
7 All my enemies whisper together(Q) against me;
they imagine the worst for me, saying,
8 “A vile disease has afflicted him;
he will never get up(R) from the place where he lies.”
9 Even my close friend,(S)
someone I trusted,
one who shared my bread,
has turned[b] against me.(T)

41 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
4 I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
10 But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
