34 Bendeciré al Señor en todo tiempo;
mis labios siempre lo alabarán.

2 Mi alma se gloría en el Señor;
lo oirán los humildes y se alegrarán.

Of David. When he pretended to be insane(A) before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.
1 I will extol the Lord at all times;(B)
his praise will always be on my lips.
2 I will glory(C) in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.(D)
3 Glorify the Lord(E) with me;
let us exalt(F) his name together.
4 I sought the Lord,(G) and he answered me;
he delivered(H) me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;(I)
their faces are never covered with shame.(J)
6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.(K)
7 The angel of the Lord(L) encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers(M) them.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good;(N)
blessed is the one who takes refuge(O) in him.
9 Fear the Lord,(P) you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.(Q)
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.(R)
11 Come, my children, listen(S) to me;
I will teach you(T) the fear of the Lord.(U)
12 Whoever of you loves life(V)
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue(W) from evil
and your lips from telling lies.(X)
14 Turn from evil and do good;(Y)
seek peace(Z) and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord(AA) are on the righteous,(AB)
and his ears are attentive(AC) to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against(AD) those who do evil,(AE)
to blot out their name(AF) from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears(AG) them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close(AH) to the brokenhearted(AI)
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Ingen behöver leva i fruktan
1-2 Jag vill lova Herren, vad som än händer. Jag ska alltid tala om hans härlighet och nåd.
3 Jag vill prisa honom för vad han gjort. Alla modlösa kan fatta mod igen.
4 Låt oss prisa Herren tillsammans och göra hans namn känt.
5 Jag ropade till honom och han svarade mig, och han befriade mig från all min fruktan.
6 De som ser upp till Herren kommer att stråla av glädje, och de kommer aldrig att bli besvikna.
7 Det var precis vad som hände med mig. Jag orkade inte längre, och då ropade jag till Herren och han hörde mig. Han räddade mig ur alla svårigheter,
8 för Herrens ängel ställer sig skyddande bredvid den som tar Gud på allvar.
9 Pröva Herren, och upplev själv hur god han är! Se hur han slösar sin barmhärtighet på alla dem som litar på honom!
10 Frukta Herren, alla ni som tillhör honom, för alla som gör det har allt de behöver.
11 Ibland finner inte ens unga, starka lejon något byte, men de som söker Herren behöver aldrig sakna någonting.
12 Barn, kom och lyssna, och låt mig få undervisa er om hur viktigt det är att lyda Herren och leva för honom!
13 Vill ni få ett långt, innehållsrikt liv?
14 Tänk då på vad ni säger! Ljug aldrig!
15 Vänd er bort från all ondska, och ställ era liv i det godas tjänst! Försök att leva i frid med alla! Ansträng er verkligen för att göra det!
16 Herrens ögon vakar intensivt över alla dem som lever så, och hans öron uppfattar när de ropar till honom.
17 Men alla ogudaktiga människor ska Herren utplåna från jorden. När de dött ska man inte ens komma ihåg dem.
18 Ja, Herren lyssnar när uppriktiga människor ropar till honom om hjälp och han räddar dem ur alla deras svårigheter.
19 Herren är nära dem som är förtvivlade och han räddar dem som förlorat allt hopp.
20 En god man får också uppleva lidande och smärta, han kommer inte undan det. Men Herren hjälper honom
21 och skyddar honom och hans ben ska inte krossas.
22 Ondskan ska själv döda dem som är onda. Stränga straff är utmätta för dem som hatar det goda.
23 Men de som uppriktigt tjänar Herren kommer att bli befriade, och alla som tar sin tillflykt till honom får utan undantag förlåtelse.

Salmo de David, cuando mudó su semblante delante de Abimelec, y él lo echó, y se fue.
34 Bendeciré a Jehová en todo tiempo;
Su alabanza estará de continuo en mi boca.
2 En Jehová se gloriará mi alma;
Lo oirán los mansos, y se alegrarán.
3 Engrandeced a Jehová conmigo,
Y exaltemos a una su nombre.
4 Busqué a Jehová, y él me escuchó,
Y me libró de todos mis temores.
5 Los que miraron hacia él fueron alumbrados,
Y sus rostros no fueron avergonzados.
6 Este pobre clamó, y le escuchó Jehová,
Y lo libró de todas sus angustias.
7 El ángel de Jehová acampa alrededor de los que le temen,
Y los defiende.
8 Gustad, y ved cuán bueno es Jehová;
Dichoso el hombre que confía en él.
9 Temed a Jehová, vosotros sus santos,
Pues nada falta a los que le temen.
10 Los potentados se empobrecen, y tienen hambre;
Pero los que buscan a Jehová no tendrán falta de ningún bien.
11 Venid, hijos, oídme;
En el temor de Jehová os instruiré.
12 ¿Quién es el hombre que desea vida,
Que busca muchos días para ver el bien?
13 Guarda tu lengua del mal,
Y tus labios de hablar engaño.
14 Apártate del mal, y haz el bien;
Busca la paz, y corre tras ella.
15 Los ojos de Jehová están sobre los justos,
Y atentos sus oídos al clamor de ellos.
16 La ira de Jehová contra los que hacen mal,
Para cortar de la tierra la memoria de ellos.
17 Claman los justos, y Jehová oye,
Y los libra de todas sus angustias.
18 Cercano está Jehová a los quebrantados de corazón;
Y salva a los contritos de espíritu.
19 Muchas son las aflicciones del justo,
Pero de todas ellas le librará Jehová.
20 Él guarda todos sus huesos;
Ni uno de ellos será quebrantado.
21 Matará al malo la maldad,
Y los que aborrecen al justo serán condenados.
22 Jehová redime el alma de sus siervos,
Y no serán condenados cuantos en él confían.
