Salmo de David, cuando huía de su hijo Absalón.

Muchos son, Señor, mis enemigos;
    muchos son los que se oponen a mí,
y muchos los que de mí aseguran:
    «Dios no lo salvará». Selah

Pero tú, Señor, me rodeas cual escudo;
    tú eres mi gloria;
    ¡tú mantienes en alto mi cabeza!
Clamo al Señor a gritos,
    y desde su monte santo él me responde. Selah

Yo me acuesto, me duermo y vuelvo a despertar,
    porque el Señor me sostiene.
No me asustan los numerosos pueblos
    que me acosan por doquier.

¡Levántate, Señor!
    ¡Ponme a salvo, Dios mío!
¡Rómpeles la quijada a mis enemigos!
    ¡Rómpeles los dientes a los malvados!

Tuya es, Señor, la salvación;
    ¡envía tu bendición sobre tu pueblo! Selah

Confiando en Dios

David compuso este salmo cuando estaba huyendo de su hijo Absalón.

Dios mío,
son muchos mis enemigos;
son muchos los que me atacan,
son muchos los que me dicen
que tú no vas a salvarme.

Sólo tú, Dios mío,
me proteges como un escudo;
y con tu poder
me das nueva vida.

A gritos te llamo,
y desde tu templo me respondes.

Yo me acuesto,
y me duermo,
y vuelvo a despertar,
porque tú vigilas mi sueño.

No me asustan los muchos enemigos
que me tienen acorralado.

¡Dios mío,
levántate y ponme a salvo!
¡Rómpeles la cara a mis enemigos!
¡Rómpeles los dientes a los malvados!

Dios mío,
sólo tú puedes salvarme;
¡bendice a tu pueblo!

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
