David implora dirección, perdón y protección

Salmo de David.

25 A ti, oh Jehová, levantaré mi alma.
2 Dios mío, en ti confío;
No sea yo avergonzado,
No se alegren de mí mis enemigos.
3 Ciertamente ninguno de cuantos esperan en ti será confundido;
Serán avergonzados los que se rebelan sin causa.

4 Muéstrame, oh Jehová, tus caminos;
Enséñame tus sendas.
5 Encamíname en tu verdad, y enséñame,
Porque tú eres el Dios de mi salvación;
En ti he esperado todo el día.

6 Acuérdate, oh Jehová, de tus piedades y de tus misericordias,
Que son perpetuas.
7 De los pecados de mi juventud, y de mis rebeliones, no te acuerdes;
Conforme a tu misericordia acuérdate de mí,
Por tu bondad, oh Jehová.

8 Bueno y recto es Jehová;
Por tanto, él enseñará a los pecadores el camino.
9 Encaminará a los humildes por el juicio,
Y enseñará a los mansos su carrera.
10 Todas las sendas de Jehová son misericordia y verdad,
Para los que guardan su pacto y sus testimonios.

11 Por amor de tu nombre, oh Jehová,
Perdonarás también mi pecado, que es grande.
12 ¿Quién es el hombre que teme a Jehová?
Él le enseñará el camino que ha de escoger.
13 Gozará él de bienestar,
Y su descendencia heredará la tierra.
14 La comunión íntima de Jehová es con los que le temen,
Y a ellos hará conocer su pacto.
15 Mis ojos están siempre hacia Jehová,
Porque él sacará mis pies de la red.

16 Mírame, y ten misericordia de mí,
Porque estoy solo y afligido.
17 Las angustias de mi corazón se han aumentado;
Sácame de mis congojas.
18 Mira mi aflicción y mi trabajo,
Y perdona todos mis pecados.
19 Mira mis enemigos, cómo se han multiplicado,
Y con odio violento me aborrecen.
20 Guarda mi alma, y líbrame;
No sea yo avergonzado, porque en ti confié.
21 Integridad y rectitud me guarden,
Porque en ti he esperado.

25 Lord, I offer myself to you.
²I trust in you, my God.
    Please do not let me be ashamed.
Do not let my enemies laugh at me,
    because they are stronger than me.
³Surely nobody who trusts in you
    will become ashamed.
But those who like to deceive others
    will become ashamed.
⁴Lord, help me to understand your ways.
    Teach me your good paths.^[b]
⁵Please be my guide and teach me your truth.
I trust you every day,
    because you are the God who keeps me safe.
⁶Lord, please be kind to me
    and show me your faithful love.
From long ago you have always been like that.
⁷Do not punish me for the sins that I did long ago.
When I was young, I turned against you.
    Please be kind to me, because of your faithful love!
⁸The Lord is good and he does what is right.
Because of that, he teaches sinners the right way to live.
⁹He is a guide for humble people,
    so that they know what is right.
He teaches them to follow his way.
¹⁰The Lord is kind to his people
    in everything that he does.
He shows his faithful love
    to those who obey the rules of his covenant.
¹¹Lord, my sins are very many.
Please forgive me,
    and show that your name is great.
¹²If people respect the Lord,
    the Lord will show them the right way to live.
¹³People like that will enjoy a good life.
The land will belong to their descendants.
¹⁴The Lord is a guide for those who serve him.
    He teaches them to obey his covenant.
¹⁵I always look to the Lord for help.
He will keep me safe from my enemies,
    so that their traps do not catch me.
¹⁶Please turn towards me, Lord,
    and be kind to me.
I feel very weak and lonely.
¹⁷I worry a lot about my troubles.
    Please rescue me from them!
¹⁸Look at all my pain!
    See how I am suffering!
Forgive me for all my sins.
¹⁹Look at all my enemies!
    There are very many of them!
They hate me so much
    that they want to hurt me.
²⁰Keep my life safe and take care of me.
I have come to you to keep me safe,
    so do not let me be ashamed.
²¹I trust you to save me.
Please take care of me,
    because I am honest and good.

²²God, save Israel's people from all their troubles!

25:1 This psalm is an alphabet psalm, like Psalms 9 and 10. Verse 1 begins with the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Verse 2 begins with the second letter and so on. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet but this psalm misses out the letter q. Verse 22 is separate from the alphabet verses.
25:4 God's ways and his paths are the right way for us to live.
