Exhortación a Israel, para que alabe a Jehová
Aleluya.
149 Cantad a Jehová un cántico nuevo;
Su alabanza resuene en la congregación de los santos.
2 Alégrese Israel en su Hacedor;
Los hijos de Sión se gocen en su Rey.
3 Alaben su nombre con danzas;
Con pandero y arpa le canten.
4 Porque Jehová se complace en su pueblo;
Hermosea a los humildes con la salvación.
5 Regocíjense los santos por su gloria,
Y canten aun sobre sus camas.
6 Haya alabanzas a Dios en sus gargantas,
Y espadas de dos filos en sus manos,
7 Para ejecutar venganza entre las naciones,
Y castigo entre los pueblos paganos;
8 Para aprisionar a sus reyes con argollas,
Y a sus nobles con cadenas de hierro;
9 Para ejecutar en ellos el juicio decretado;
Un honor será esto para todos sus santos.

Israel invoked to praise Jehovah.
[a]149 Praise ye Jehovah.
Sing unto Jehovah a new song,
And his praise in the assembly of the saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him:
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance:
Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp.
4 For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people:
He will beautify the meek with [b]salvation.
5 Let the saints exult in glory:
Let them sing for joy upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their [c]mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the nations,
And punishments upon the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written:
[d]This honor have all his saints.
[e]Praise ye Jehovah.
