121 A las montañas levanto mis ojos;
¿de dónde ha de venir mi ayuda?
2 Mi ayuda proviene del Señor,
que hizo el cielo y la tierra.
3 No permitirá que tu pie resbale;
jamás duerme el que te cuida.
4 Jamás duerme ni se adormece
el que cuida de Israel.
5 El Señor es quien te cuida;
el Señor es tu sombra a tu mano derecha.
6 De día el sol no te hará daño
ni la luna de noche.
7 El Señor te cuidará;
de todo mal guardará tu vida.
8 El Señor cuidará tu salida y tu entrada,
desde ahora y para siempre.

121 (1b) Al contemplar las montañas me pregunto:
«¿De dónde vendrá mi ayuda?»
2 Mi ayuda vendrá del Señor,
creador del cielo y de la tierra.
3 ¡Nunca permitirá que resbales!
¡Nunca se dormirá el que te cuida!
4 No, él nunca duerme;
nunca duerme el que cuida de Israel.
5 El Señor es quien te cuida;
el Señor es quien te protege,
quien está junto a ti para ayudarte.
6 El sol no te hará daño de día,
ni la luna de noche.
7 El Señor te protege de todo peligro;
él protege tu vida.
8 El Señor te protege en todos tus caminos,
ahora y siempre.

que sufras daño alguno.
Dios te cuida y nunca duerme.
4 ¡Dios cuida de Israel,
y nunca duerme!
5 Dios te cuida y te protege;
Dios está siempre a tu lado.
6 Durante el día,
el sol no te quemará;
durante la noche,
no te dañará la luna.
7 Dios te protegerá
y te pondrá a salvo
de todos los peligros.

1 A song of ascents.
I raise my eyes toward the mountains.[b]
From whence shall come my help?(A)
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the maker of heaven and earth.(B)
3 He will not allow your foot to slip;(C)
or your guardian to sleep.
4 Behold, the guardian of Israel
never slumbers nor sleeps.
5 [c]The Lord is your guardian;
the Lord is your shade
at your right hand.(D)
6 By day the sun will not strike you,
nor the moon by night.(E)
7 The Lord will guard you from all evil;
he will guard your soul.(F)
8 The Lord will guard your coming and going
both now and forever.(G)

- Psalm 121 A blessing given to someone embarking on a dangerous journey whether a soldier going on a campaign or a pilgrim returning home from the Temple. People look anxiously at the wooded hills. Will God protect them on their journey (Ps 121:1)? The speaker declares that God is not confined to a place or a time (Ps 121:2), that every step is guarded (Ps 121:3–4); night and day (Ps 121:5–6) God watches over their every movement (Ps 121:7–8).
- 121:1 The mountains: possibly Mount Zion, the site of the Temple and hence of safety, but more probably mountains as a place of dangers, causing anxiety to the psalmist.
- 121:5–6 The image of shade, a symbol of protection, is apt: God as shade protects from the harmful effects that ancients believed were caused by the sun and moon.

2 Sự giúp đỡ tôi đến từ CHÚA,
Đấng sáng tạo nên trời và đất.
3 Ngài không để chân ngươi trượt ngã;
Đấng bảo vệ ngươi sẽ không buồn ngủ.
4 Phải, Đấng bảo vệ Y-sơ-ra-ên
Sẽ không buồn ngủ cũng không cần ngủ.
5 CHÚA là Đấng bảo vệ ngươi;
CHÚA là bóng che chở ở bên phải ngươi.
6 Ban ngày mặt trời sẽ không thiêu đốt[a] ngươi;
Ban đêm mặt trăng cũng không hại ngươi.[b]
7 CHÚA bảo vệ ngươi khỏi mọi tai họa;
Ngài sẽ bảo vệ sinh mạng ngươi.[c]
