Segurança em Deus

De Davi. Ao regente do coro.

11 Com Deus, o Senhor, estou seguro.
Não adianta me dizerem:
“Fuja como um pássaro
    para as montanhas
porque os maus já armaram
    os seus arcos
e de tocaia apontam as flechas
para atirar nas pessoas direitas.
O que pode fazer a pessoa honesta
quando as leis e os bons costumes
    são desprezados?”

O Senhor Deus está
    no seu santo Templo;
o seu trono está no céu.
Ele vê todas as pessoas
e sabe o que elas fazem.
O Senhor examina
    os que lhe obedecem
    e também aqueles que são maus;
com todo o coração ele detesta
os que gostam de praticar violências.

Deus faz cair enxofre e brasas
    sobre os maus;
ele os castiga com ventos
    que queimam como o fogo.
O Senhor faz o que é certo
    e ama a honestidade;
as pessoas que são obedientes a ele
    viverão na sua presença.

Psalm 11

Faith in the Lord’s Righteousness

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

11 In (A)the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
For look! (B)The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot [a]secretly at the upright in heart.
(C)If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?

The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s (D)throne is in heaven;
(E)His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
The Lord (F)tests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
(G)Shall be [b]the portion of their cup.

For the Lord is righteous,
He (H)loves righteousness;
[c]His countenance beholds the upright.
