Salmos 109
Nueva Versión Internacional (Castilian)
Al director musical. Salmo de David.
109 Oh Dios, alabanza mía,
no guardes silencio.
2 Pues gente impía y mentirosa
ha declarado en mi contra,
y con lengua engañosa me difaman;
3 con expresiones de odio me acosan,
y sin razón alguna me atacan.
4 Mi amor me lo pagan con calumnias,
mientras yo me encomiendo a Dios.
5 Mi bondad la pagan con maldad;
en vez de amarme, me aborrecen.
6 Pon en su contra a un malvado;
9 Que se queden huérfanos sus hijos;
que se quede viuda su esposa.
10 Que anden sus hijos vagando y mendigando;
que anden rebuscando entre las ruinas.
11 Que sus acreedores se apoderen de sus bienes;
que gente extraña saquee sus posesiones.
12 Que nadie le extienda su bondad;
que nadie se compadezca de sus huérfanos.
13 Que sea exterminada su descendencia;
a pobres, afligidos y menesterosos,
trátame bien por causa de tu nombre;
líbrame por tu bondad y gran amor.
22 Ciertamente soy pobre y estoy necesitado;
profundamente herido está mi corazón.
23 Me voy desvaneciendo como sombra vespertina;
24 De tanto ayunar me tiemblan las rodillas;
25 Soy para ellos motivo de burla;
me ven, y menean la cabeza.
26 Señor mi Dios, ¡ayúdame!;
por tu gran amor, ¡sálvame!
27 Que sepan que esta es tu mano;
que tú mismo, Señor, lo has hecho.
28 ¿Qué importa que ellos me maldigan?
¡Bendíceme tú!
Pueden atacarme, pero quedarán avergonzados;
en cambio, este siervo tuyo se alegrará.
29 ¡Queden mis acusadores cubiertos de deshonra,
envueltos en un manto de vergüenza!
30 Por mi parte, daré muchas gracias al Señor;
lo alabaré entre una gran muchedumbre.
31 Porque él aboga por el[b] necesitado
para salvarlo de quienes lo condenan.
Psalm 109
King James Version
109 Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.
4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.
7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.
8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
20 Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul.
21 But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.
24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.
25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.
26 Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:
27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done it.
28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.
29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.
30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

Psalm 109
Deceitful Men Have Opened Their Mouths
Heading
For the choir director. By David. A psalm.
The Problem and the Prayer
1 O God whom I praise, do not be silent,
2 because they have opened wicked, deceitful mouths against me.
They have spoken against me with lying tongues.
3 They surround me with hateful words.
They attack me without cause.
4 In return for my love they accuse me,
but I am a man of prayer.[a]
5 They repay me with evil for good,
with hatred for my love.
The Curse
6 Appoint an evil one to testify against him,
and let an accuser[b] stand at his right hand.
7 When he is tried, let him be found guilty,
and let his prayer be sin.
8 Let his days be few.
Let another take his office.
9 Let his children be fatherless
and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children always wander and beg.
Let them seek food far from their ruined homes.[c]
11 Let a creditor confiscate all he has.
Let strangers plunder everything he worked for.
12 Let there be no one to extend mercy to him.
Let there be no one to show favor to his fatherless children.
13 Let his descendants be cut off.
In the next generation let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the guilt of his fathers be remembered before the Lord.
Let the sin of his mother never be blotted out.
15 Let their sins remain before the Lord continually,
and let the memory of these people be cut off from the earth.
16 Because he did not remember to show mercy,
but he pursued the poor man and the needy
and the brokenhearted to put them to death.
17 Since he loved cursing, so let it fall on him.
He found no pleasure in blessing, so let it be far from him.
18 Since he wore cursing as his clothing,
let it enter into his stomach like water
and into his bones like oil.
19 Let it be like a garment wrapped around him,
like a belt tied around him forever.
20 May the Lord do all this to my accusers
and to those who speak evil against my life.
Prayer for Help
21 But you, Lord God, deal with me for the sake of your name.
Because of the goodness of your mercy, deliver me.
22 For I am poor and needy,
and my heart is wounded[d] within me.
23 Like a shadow after it lengthens, I go away.
I am shaken off like a locust.
24 My knees give way from fasting,
and my flesh has become lean, without fat.
25 But I—I am scorned by them.
They see me. They shake their heads.
26 Help me, O Lord my God.
Save me according to your mercy.
27 Let them know that this is your hand.
You, O Lord, have done it.
28 They may curse, but you will bless.
They rose up, but they will be put to shame.
Then your servant will rejoice.
29 My accusers will be dressed with disgrace.
Their shame will wrap around them like a robe.
Closing Praise
30 With my mouth I will keep on thanking the Lord.
In the midst of many people I will praise him.
31 For the Lord stands at the right hand of the needy,
to save his life from those who condemn him.
