LIBRO QUINTO
Dios libra de aflicciones
107 (A)Dad gracias al Señor, porque Él es bueno;
porque para siempre es su misericordia(B).
2 Díganlo los redimidos del Señor(C),
a quienes ha redimido de la mano del adversario(D),
3 y los ha reunido de las tierras(E),
del oriente y del occidente,
del norte y del sur[a].
4 Vagaron por el desierto(F), por lugar desolado,
no hallaron camino a ciudad habitada[b](G);
5 hambrientos y[c] sedientos,
su alma desfallecía en ellos(H).
6 Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor(I),
y Él los libró de sus aflicciones;
7 y los guió por camino recto[d](J),
para que fueran a una ciudad habitada[e](K).
8 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia
y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres(L).
9 Porque Él ha saciado al alma sedienta[f](M),
y ha llenado de bienes al alma hambrienta(N).
10 Moradores de tinieblas y de sombra de muerte(O),
prisioneros en miseria[g] y en cadenas[h](P),
11 porque fueron rebeldes a las palabras de Dios(Q)
y despreciaron el consejo del Altísimo(R);
12 humilló pues, sus corazones con trabajos,
tropezaron y no hubo quien los socorriera(S).
13 Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor(T)
y Él los salvó de sus aflicciones;
14 los sacó de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte(U)
y rompió sus ataduras[i](V).
15 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia
y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres(W).
16 Porque Él rompió las puertas de bronce(X)
e hizo pedazos las barras de hierro.
17 Por causa de sus caminos rebeldes[j],
y por causa de sus iniquidades(Y), los insensatos fueron afligidos.
18 Su alma aborreció todo alimento(Z),
y se acercaron(AA) hasta las puertas de la muerte(AB).
19 Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor
y Él los salvó de sus aflicciones.
20 Él envió su palabra(AC) y los sanó(AD)
y los libró(AE) de la muerte[k].
21 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia
y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres(AF).
22 Ofrezcan también sacrificios de acción de gracias(AG)
y pregonen sus obras con cantos de júbilo(AH).
23 Los que descienden al mar en naves(AI)
y hacen negocio sobre las grandes aguas,
24 ellos han visto las obras del Señor
y sus maravillas en lo profundo.
25 Pues Él habló(AJ), y levantó un viento tempestuoso(AK)
que encrespó las olas del mar[l](AL).
26 Subieron a los cielos, descendieron a las profundidades,
sus almas se consumían[m] por el mal(AM).
27 Temblaban y se tambaleaban como ebrios(AN),
y toda su pericia desapareció[n].
28 Entonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor
y Él los sacó de sus aflicciones.
29 Cambió la tempestad en calma(AO)
y las olas del mar[o] callaron.
30 Entonces se alegraron porque las olas se habían aquietado,
y Él los guió al[p] puerto anhelado.
31 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia
y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres(AP).
32 Exáltenle(AQ) también en la congregación del pueblo(AR),
y alábenle en la reunión de los ancianos(AS).
33 Él convierte los ríos en desierto(AT)
y los manantiales en secadales;
34 la tierra fértil(AU) en salinas(AV),
por la maldad de los que moran en ella.
35 Transforma el desierto en estanque de aguas(AW),
y la tierra seca en manantiales;
36 en ella hace morar a los hambrientos,
para que establezcan una ciudad donde vivir[q](AX),
37 y siembren campos, planten viñas(AY),
y recojan una cosecha abundante[r].
38 Los bendice también y se multiplican mucho(AZ),
y no disminuye su ganado(BA).
39 Cuando son disminuidos(BB) y abatidos(BC)
por la opresión, la calamidad y la aflicción,
40 vierte desprecio sobre los príncipes[s](BD),
y los hace vagar(BE) por un yermo sin camino(BF).
41 Pero al pobre(BG) levanta de la miseria y lo pone seguro en alto[t],
y multiplica[u] sus familias(BH) como un rebaño.
42 Los rectos lo ven y se alegran(BI),
pero toda iniquidad cierra su boca(BJ).
43 ¿Quién es sabio(BK)? Que preste atención a estas cosas,
y considere las bondades del Señor(BL).

1 ¶ O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good; for his mercy endures for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy
3 and gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
4 They wandered lost in the wilderness, alone and out of the way; they found no city to dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his mercy and for his wonderful works unto the sons of Adam!
9 For he satisfies the soul that is destitute and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
10 ¶ Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and in irons,
11 because they rebelled against the words of God and condemned the counsel of the most High:
12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was no one to help.
13 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bonds asunder.
15 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his mercy and for his wonderful works unto the sons of Adam!
16 For he has broken the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder.
17 ¶ The fools, because of the way of their rebellion, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted.
18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death.
19 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
20 He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their graves.
21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his mercy and for his wonderful works unto the sons of Adam!
22 And let them offer the sacrifices of praise and publish his works with singing.
23 ¶ Those that go down to the sea in ships that do work in many waters,
24 these have seen the works of the LORD and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves.
26 They mount up to the heavens; they go down again to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man, and all of their knowledge is of no avail.
28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivers them out of their afflictions.
29 He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.
30 Then they are glad because they are at rest; so he brings them into the haven of his will.
31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his mercy and for his wonderful works unto the sons of Adam!
32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
33 ¶ He turned rivers into a wilderness and the watersprings into dry ground;
34 the fruitful land into salt flats, because of the wickedness of those that dwell therein.
35 He turns the wilderness into reservoirs of water and dry ground into watersprings.
36 And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation
37 and sow the fields and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
38 He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly and suffers not their cattle to decrease.
39 Again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
40 He pours contempt upon princes and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
41 Yet he sets the poor on high from affliction and makes his families like a flock.
42 The righteous shall see it and rejoice, and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
43 Who is wise and will observe these things and shall understand the mercies of the LORD?

Gottes Gnade für die Erlösten
107 „Danket dem Herrn, denn er ist gütig,
denn seine Gnade währt ewig!“
2 So sollen sagen die Erlösten des Herrn,
die er aus der Hand des Feindes erlöst
3 und die er aus den Ländern zusammengebracht hat,
vom Aufgang und vom Niedergang, von Mitternacht und vom Meer,
4 die irregingen in der Wüste, auf ungebahntem Weg
und keine Stadt fanden, wo sie wohnen konnten,
5 hungrig und durstig,
daß ihre Seele in ihnen verschmachtete.
6 Da schrieen sie zum Herrn in ihrer Not,
und er rettete sie aus ihren Ängsten
7 und führte sie auf den rechten Weg,
daß sie zu einer bewohnten Stadt gelangten, -
8 die sollen dem Herrn danken für seine Gnade
und für seine Wunder an den Menschenkindern,
9 daß er die durstige Seele getränkt
und die hungernde Seele mit Gutem gesättigt hat!
10 Die in Finsternis und Todesschatten saßen,
gebunden in Elend und Eisen,
11 weil sie den Geboten Gottes widerstrebt
und den Rat des Höchsten verachtet hatten,
12 so daß er ihr Herz durch Strafe beugte,
daß sie dalagen und ihnen niemand half.
13 Da schrieen sie zum Herrn in ihrer Not,
und er rettete sie aus ihren Ängsten,
14 und führte sie aus Finsternis und Todesschatten heraus
und zerriß ihre Bande, -
15 die sollen dem Herrn danken für seine Gnade
und für seine Wunder an den Menschenkindern,
16 daß er eherne Türen zerbricht
und eiserne Riegel zerschlägt!
17 Die Toren, die wegen ihrer Übertretung
und um ihrer Missetaten willen geplagt wurden,
18 daß ihrer Seele vor aller Nahrung ekelte
und sie nahe waren den Pforten des Todes.
19 Da schrieen sie zum Herrn in ihrer Not,
und er rettete sie aus ihren Ängsten.
20 Er sandte sein Wort und machte sie gesund
und ließ sie ihren Gräbern entrinnen, -
21 die sollen dem Herrn danken für seine Gnade
und für seine Wunder an den Menschenkindern,
22 sollen ihm Dankopfer bringen
und seine Taten jubelnd erzählen!
23 Die in Schiffen sich aufs Meer begaben
und Handel trieben auf großen Wassern,
24 die des Herrn Werke sahen
und seine Wunder auf hoher See,
25 wenn er sprach und einen Sturmwind erregte,
der die Wellen in die Höhe warf,
26 daß sie emporfuhren gen Himmel und hinabfuhren zur Tiefe
und ihre Seele vor Angst verging;
27 daß sie wirbelten und schwankten wie Trunkene,
und alle ihre Weisheit dahin war.
28 Da schrieen sie zum Herrn in ihrer Not,
und er führte sie heraus aus ihren Ängsten;
29 er stillte den Sturm, daß er schwieg
und die Wellen sich beruhigten;
30 und jene wurden froh, daß sie sich legten;
und er führte sie an das erwünschte Gestade, -
31 die sollen dem Herrn danken für seine Gnade
und für seine Wunder an den Menschenkindern
32 und sollen ihn erheben in der Versammlung des Volkes
und im Kreise der Ältesten ihn rühmen!
33 Er machte Ströme zur Wüste
und ließ Wasserquellen vertrocknen;
34 fruchtbares Land wurde zur Salzwüste
wegen der Bosheit derer, die es bewohnten.
35 Er machte aber auch die Wüste zum Wasserteich
und dürres Land zu Wasserquellen.
36 Und er ließ Hungrige daselbst wohnen,
und sie gründeten eine bewohnte Stadt;
37 und sie säten Äcker an und pflanzten Weinberge
und hatten von den Früchten einen schönen Ertrag;
38 und er segnete sie, daß sie sich stark mehrten,
und auch ihres Viehs machte er nicht wenig,
39 nachdem sie vermindert worden waren und gedemütigt
durch den Druck des Unglücks und Kummers,
40 als er Verachtung auf die Fürsten goß
und sie irregehen ließ in unwegsamer Wildnis;
41 aber er erhob den Armen aus dem Elend
und machte die Geschlechter wie Schafherden.
42 Die Redlichen sollen es sehen und sich freuen,
und alle Bosheit soll ihr Maul verschließen!
43 Wer weise ist, der beobachte solches
und merke sich die Gnadenerweisungen des Herrn!
