Salmo 103 (102)

Bendigan todos al Señor

103 De David.
Bendice, alma mía, al Señor
y todo mi ser a su santo nombre.
Bendice, alma mía, al Señor,
no te olvides de sus favores.
Él perdona todos tus pecados,
él sana todos tus males;
él libra tu vida de la fosa,
te corona de amor y de ternura;
colma de bienes tu existencia,
y tú te rejuveneces como un águila.
El Señor imparte justicia
y derecho a los oprimidos.
Mostró sus caminos a Moisés,
a los hijos de Israel sus proezas.
El Señor es clemente y compasivo,
paciente y lleno de amor.
No estará para siempre litigando,
no estará eternamente resentido.
10 No nos trata según nuestros pecados,
no nos paga según nuestras culpas.
11 Pues como el cielo dista de la tierra
abunda su amor para con sus fieles;
12 como está lejos el este del oeste,
él aleja nuestras faltas de nosotros.
13 Como un padre quiere a sus hijos,
el Señor quiere a sus fieles.
14 Conoce cuál es nuestro origen,
recuerda que somos polvo.
15 Como hierba es la vida humana,
como la flor del campo florece;
16 la azota el viento y no existe,
no vuelve a saberse dónde estuvo.
17 Mas el amor del Señor dura por siempre,
nunca abandona a quienes le honran;

The Lord's Wonderful Love

With all my heart
    I praise the Lord,
and with all that I am
    I praise his holy name!
With all my heart
    I praise the Lord!
I will never forget
    how kind he has been.

The Lord forgives our sins,
heals us when we are sick,
    and protects us from death.
His kindness and love
    are a crown on our heads.
Each day that we live,[a]
    he provides for our needs
and gives us the strength
    of a young eagle.

For all who are mistreated,
    the Lord brings justice.
He taught his Law to Moses
and showed all Israel
    what he could do.

(A) The Lord is merciful!
He is kind and patient,
    and his love never fails.
The Lord won't always be angry
    and point out our sins;
10 he doesn't punish us
    as our sins deserve.

11 How great is God's love for all
    who worship him?
Greater than the distance
    between heaven and earth!
12 How far has the Lord taken
    our sins from us?
Farther than the distance
    from east to west!

13 Just as parents are kind
    to their children,
the Lord is kind
    to all who worship him,
14 because he knows
    we are made of dust.
15 We humans are like grass
or wild flowers
    that quickly bloom.
16 But a scorching wind blows,
and they quickly wither
    to be forever forgotten.

17 The Lord is always kind
    to those who worship him,
and he keeps his promises
to their descendants
18 who faithfully obey him.

19 God has set up his kingdom
in heaven, and he rules
    the whole creation.
20 All of you mighty angels,
who obey God's commands,
    come and praise your Lord!
21 All of you thousands
who serve and obey God,
    come and praise your Lord!
22 All of God's creation
and all that he rules,
    come and praise your Lord!
With all my heart
    I praise the Lord!

  1. 103.5 Each … live: One possible meaning for the difficult Hebrew text.

Praise for the Lord’s Mercies.

A Psalm of David.

103 Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name.

Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul,
And do not forget any of His benefits;

Who forgives all your sins,
Who heals all your diseases;

Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy;

Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle.(A)

The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all the oppressed.

He made known His ways [of righteousness and justice] to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in compassion and lovingkindness.(B)

He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
10
He has not dealt with us according to our sins [as we deserve],
Nor rewarded us [with punishment] according to our wickedness.
11
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].
12
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13
Just as a father loves his children,
So the Lord loves those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].
14
For He knows our [mortal] frame;
He remembers that we are [merely] dust.

15
As for man, his days are like grass;
Like a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
16
For the wind passes over it and it is no more,
And its place knows it no longer.
17
But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who [reverently] fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,(C)
18
To those who honor and keep His covenant,
And remember to do His commandments [imprinting His word on their hearts].

19
The Lord has established His throne in the heavens,
And His sovereignty rules over all [the universe].
20
Bless the Lord, you His angels,
You mighty ones who do His commandments,
Obeying the voice of His word!
21
Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You who serve Him and do His will.
22
Bless the Lord, all you works of His, in all places of His dominion;
Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul!
