Súplica por la misericordia de Dios sobre Israel

Al músico principal. Salmo para los hijos de Coré.

85 Fuiste propicio a tu tierra, oh Jehová;

Volviste la cautividad de Jacob.

Perdonaste la iniquidad de tu pueblo;

Todos los pecados de ellos cubriste. Selah

Reprimiste todo tu enojo;

Te apartaste del ardor de tu ira.

Restáuranos, oh Dios de nuestra salvación,

Y haz cesar tu ira de sobre nosotros.

¿Estarás enojado contra nosotros para siempre?

¿Extenderás tu ira de generación en generación?

¿No volverás a darnos vida,

Para que tu pueblo se regocije en ti?

Muéstranos, oh Jehová, tu misericordia,

Y danos tu salvación.

Escucharé lo que hablará Jehová Dios;

Porque hablará paz a su pueblo y a sus santos,

Para que no se vuelvan a la locura.

Ciertamente cercana está su salvación a los que le temen,

Para que habite la gloria en nuestra tierra.

10 La misericordia y la verdad se encontraron;

La justicia y la paz se besaron.

11 La verdad brotará de la tierra,

Y la justicia mirará desde los cielos.

12 Jehová dará también el bien,

Y nuestra tierra dará su fruto.

13 La justicia irá delante de él,

Y sus pasos nos pondrá por camino.

85 Lord, Thou hast been favorable unto Thy land; Thou hast released the captives of Jacob.

Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of Thy people; Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah

Thou hast taken away all Thy wrath; Thou hast turned Thyself from the fierceness of Thine anger.

Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause Thine anger toward us to cease.

Wilt Thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt Thou draw out Thine anger to all generations?

Wilt Thou not revive us again, that Thy people may rejoice in Thee?

Show us Thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us Thy salvation.

I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace unto His people and to His saints; but let them not turn again to folly.

Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good, and our land shall yield her increase.

13 Righteousness shall go before Him, and shall set us in the way of His steps.

Prayer for God’s mercy upon the nation.

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

85 Jehovah, thou hast been favorable unto thy land;
Thou hast [a]brought back the captivity of Jacob.
Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people;
Thou hast covered all their sin. Selah
Thou hast taken away all thy wrath;
Thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
[b]Turn us, O God of our salvation,
And cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever?
Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
Wilt thou not quicken us again,
That thy people may rejoice in thee?
Show us thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah,
And grant us thy salvation.
I will hear what God Jehovah will speak;
For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints:
But let them not turn again to folly.
Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth springeth out of the earth;
And righteousness hath looked down from heaven.
12 Yea, Jehovah will give that which is good;
And our land shall yield its increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him,
And shall [c]make his footsteps a way to walk in.
