Kanu waa baryootan Maskiil ah ee Daa'uud tiriyey markuu godkii ku jiray.

142 Anigu codkaygaan Rabbiga ugu qayshadaa,
Oo codkaygaan Rabbiga ku baryaa.
Oo hortiisaan ku cawdaa,
Oo dhibaatadaydana hortiisaan ku muujiyaa.
Markii naftaydu gudahayga ku itaal darnaatay, waddadayda waad tiqiin,
Jidka aan ku socdona dabin bay iigu qariyeen.
Bal fiiri xaggayga midig, oo bal arag,
Waayo, nin i yaqaan ma jiro,
Meel aan magangalo ayaan waayay, ninna naftayda dan kama leh.
Rabbiyow, adigaan kuu qayshaday,
Oo waxaan idhi, Waxaad tahay magangalkayga,
Iyo qaybta aan dalka kuwa nool ku leeyahay.
Qayladayda dhegayso, waayo, aad baa hoos laygu dejiyey,
Kuwa i silciya iga samatabbixi, waayo, iyagu way iga xoog badan yihiin.
Naftayda xabsiga ka soo bixi, si aan magacaaga ugu mahadnaqo,
Kuwa xaqa ah ayaa igu hareeraysnaan doona,
Waayo, wax badan oo wanaagsan baad ii samayn doontaa.

Prayer for Deliverance from Persecutors

A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A Prayer.

142 I cry with my voice to the Lord,
    with my voice I make supplication to the Lord,
I pour out my complaint before him,
    I tell my trouble before him.
When my spirit is faint,
    thou knowest my way!

In the path where I walk
    they have hidden a trap for me.
I look to the right and watch,[a]
    but there is none who takes notice of me;
no refuge remains to me,
    no man cares for me.

I cry to thee, O Lord;
    I say, Thou art my refuge,
    my portion in the land of the living.
Give heed to my cry;
    for I am brought very low!

Deliver me from my persecutors;
    for they are too strong for me!
Bring me out of prison,
    that I may give thanks to thy name!
The righteous will surround me;
    for thou wilt deal bountifully with me.
