145 Davíðs-lofsöngur. Ég vil vegsama þig, ó Guð minn, þú konungur, og prísa nafn þitt um aldur og ævi.
2 Á hverjum degi vil ég prísa þig og lofa nafn þitt um aldur og ævi.
3 Mikill er Drottinn og mjög vegsamlegur, mikilleikur hans er órannsakanlegur.
4 Ein kynslóðin vegsamar verk þín fyrir annarri og kunngjörir máttarverk þín.
5 Þær segja frá tign og dýrð vegsemdar þinnar: "Ég vil syngja um dásemdir þínar."
6 Og um mátt ógnarverka þinna tala þær: "Ég vil segja frá stórvirkjum þínum."
7 Þær minna á þína miklu gæsku og fagna yfir réttlæti þínu.
8 Náðugur og miskunnsamur er Drottinn, þolinmóður og mjög gæskuríkur.
9 Drottinn er öllum góður, og miskunn hans er yfir öllu, sem hann skapar.
10 Öll sköpun þín lofar þig, Drottinn, og dýrkendur þínir prísa þig.
11 Þeir tala um dýrð konungdóms þíns, segja frá veldi þínu.
12 Þeir kunngjöra mönnum veldi þitt, hina dýrlegu tign konungdóms þíns.
13 Konungdómur þinn er konungdómur um allar aldir og ríki þitt stendur frá kyni til kyns. Drottinn er trúfastur í öllum orðum sínum og miskunnsamur í öllum verkum sínum.
14 Drottinn styður alla þá, er ætla að hníga, og reisir upp alla niðurbeygða.
15 Allra augu vona á þig, og þú gefur þeim fæðu þeirra á réttum tíma.
16 Þú lýkur upp hendi þinni og seður allt sem lifir með blessun.
17 Drottinn er réttlátur á öllum sínum vegum og miskunnsamur í öllum sínum verkum.
18 Drottinn er nálægur öllum sem ákalla hann, öllum sem ákalla hann í einlægni.
19 Hann uppfyllir ósk þeirra er óttast hann, og hróp þeirra heyrir hann og hjálpar þeim.
20 Drottinn varðveitir alla þá er elska hann, en útrýmir öllum níðingum.
21 Munnur minn skal mæla orðstír Drottins, allt hold vegsami hans heilaga nafn um aldur og ævi.

145 En lovsång av David.
Jag vill upphöja dig, min Gud och kung,
och för evigt prisa ditt namn.
2 Jag vill prisa dig varje dag,
för evigt lovsjunga ditt namn.
3 Stor är Herren och högt prisad!
Hans storhet är outgrundlig.
4 I alla tider ska människor hylla dina verk
och berätta om dina mäktiga gärningar.
5 Din härliga prakt, dina underbara verk och ditt majestät
vill jag begrunda.
6 De talar om dina fruktansvärda gärningars makt,
och jag vill förkunna din storhet.
7 De ska hylla minnet av din stora godhet
och jubla över din rättfärdighet.
8 Herren är nådig och barmhärtig,
sen till vrede, rik på nåd.
9 Herren är god mot alla,
han är barmhärtig mot alla som han har skapat.
10 Alla dina verk prisar dig, Herre,
och dina fromma lovprisar dig.
11 De talar om ditt rikes härlighet
och förkunnar din makt,
12 för att alla människor ska lära känna din makt,
ditt rikes ära och härlighet.
13 Ditt rike består för evigt
och ditt välde från generation till generation.
Herren är trofast i allt han säger,
nådig i allt han gör.[a]
14 Herren uppehåller alla som håller på att falla
och reser upp dem som är nertyngda.
15 Allas ögon är riktade mot dig,
och du ger dem mat i rätt tid.
16 Du öppnar din hand
och mättar allt levande som hungrar.
17 Herren är rättfärdig i allt han gör,
nådig mot allt han skapat.
18 Herren är nära alla som ropar,
som ärligt ropar till honom.
19 Han gör vad de som fruktar honom begär.
Han hör deras rop och räddar dem.
20 Herren skyddar alla dem som älskar honom,
men alla onda förgör han.
21 Jag vill lova Herren,
och allt som lever ska prisa hans heliga namn,
nu och för evigt.

A psalm of praise. Of David.
1 I will exalt you,(A) my God the King;(B)
I will praise your name(C) for ever and ever.
2 Every day I will praise(D) you
and extol your name(E) for ever and ever.
3 Great(F) is the Lord and most worthy of praise;(G)
his greatness no one can fathom.(H)
4 One generation(I) commends your works to another;
they tell(J) of your mighty acts.(K)
5 They speak of the glorious splendor(L) of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.[b](M)
6 They tell(N) of the power of your awesome works—(O)
and I will proclaim(P) your great deeds.(Q)
7 They celebrate your abundant goodness(R)
and joyfully sing(S) of your righteousness.(T)
9 The Lord is good(W) to all;
he has compassion(X) on all he has made.
10 All your works praise you,(Y) Lord;
your faithful people extol(Z) you.(AA)
11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom(AB)
and speak of your might,(AC)
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts(AD)
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.(AE)
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,(AF)
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy(AG) in all he promises(AH)
and faithful in all he does.[c]
14 The Lord upholds(AI) all who fall
and lifts up all(AJ) who are bowed down.(AK)
15 The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food(AL) at the proper time.
16 You open your hand
and satisfy the desires(AM) of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous(AN) in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.(AO)
18 The Lord is near(AP) to all who call on him,(AQ)
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desires(AR) of those who fear him;(AS)
he hears their cry(AT) and saves them.(AU)
20 The Lord watches over(AV) all who love him,(AW)
but all the wicked he will destroy.(AX)

145 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.
7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.
8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.
11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.
15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
