⁶ So the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered and said, “It is the young Moabite woman ^(A)who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab.

²² So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law with her, who returned from the country of Moab. Now they came to Bethlehem ^(A)at the beginning of barley harvest.

The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant^(A)

^45 (B)“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food ^[a]in due season?

¹⁹ Now the two of them went until they came to Bethlehem. And it happened, when they had come to Bethlehem, that ^(A)all the city was excited because of them; and the women said, ^(B)“Is this Naomi?”

¹⁶ But Ruth said:

⁴ So Joseph ^(A)found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him ^(B)overseer of his house, and all that he had he put ^[a]under his authority.

² So Abraham said ^(A)to the oldest servant of his house, who ^(B)ruled over all that he had, “Please, ^(C)put your hand under my thigh,

^2 (A)But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, ^(B)seeing I ^[a]go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

⁸ “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’
