⁷ For the mind that is set on the flesh is ^(A)hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; ^(B)indeed, it cannot. ⁸ Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

2 ^(A)And you were ^(B)dead in the trespasses and sins ^2 (C)in which you once walked, following the course^[a] of this world, following ^(D)the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in ^(E)the sons of disobedience—

¹⁵ and saying, ^(A)“The time is fulfilled, and ^(B)the kingdom of God is at hand;^{[a] (C)}repent and believe in the gospel.”

⁸ For ^(A)by grace you have been saved ^(B)through faith. And this is ^(C)not your own doing; ^(D)it is the gift of God, ^9 (E)not a result of works, ^(F)so that no one may boast. ¹⁰ For ^(G)we are his workmanship, ^(H)created in Christ Jesus ^(I)for good works, ^(J)which God prepared beforehand, ^(K)that we should walk in them.
