²⁴ For ^(A)in this hope we were saved. Now ^(B)hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, we ^(C)wait for it with patience.

⁸ But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, ^(A)having put on the breastplate of ^(B)faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. ⁹ For God has not destined us for ^(C)wrath, but ^(D)to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
