Romans 8:22-33

22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; 23 and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in[a] hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes[b] for what is seen? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes[c] with sighs too deep for words. 27 And God,[d] who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit[e] intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.[f]
28 We know that all things work together for good[g] for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn within a large family.[h] 30 And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.
God’s Love in Christ Jesus
31 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else? 33 Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

22 Sappiamo infatti che fino ad ora tutta la creazione geme ed è in travaglio; 23 non solo essa, ma anche noi, che abbiamo le primizie dello Spirito, gemiamo dentro di noi, aspettando l’adozione, la redenzione del nostro corpo. 24 Poiché siamo stati salvati in speranza. Or la speranza di ciò che si vede non è speranza; difatti, quello che uno vede perché lo spererebbe ancora?[a] 25 Ma se speriamo ciò che non vediamo, lo aspettiamo con pazienza.
26 Allo stesso modo ancora, lo Spirito viene in aiuto alla nostra debolezza[b], perché non sappiamo pregare come si conviene; ma lo Spirito intercede egli stesso [per noi] con sospiri ineffabili; 27 e colui che esamina i cuori sa quale sia il desiderio dello Spirito, perché egli intercede per i santi secondo il volere di Dio.

28 (A)Or sappiamo che tutte le cose cooperano al bene di quelli che amano Dio, i quali sono chiamati secondo il suo disegno. 29 Perché quelli che ha preconosciuti, li ha pure predestinati a essere conformi all’immagine del Figlio suo, affinché egli sia il primogenito tra molti fratelli; 30 e quelli che ha predestinati, li ha pure chiamati; e quelli che ha chiamati, li ha pure giustificati; e quelli che ha giustificati, li ha pure glorificati.
31 Che diremo dunque riguardo a queste cose? Se Dio è per noi chi sarà contro di noi? 32 Colui che non ha risparmiato il proprio Figlio, ma lo ha dato per noi tutti, non ci donerà forse anche tutte le cose con lui? 33 Chi accuserà gli eletti di Dio? Dio è colui che li giustifica.

22 Denn wir wissen, dass die ganze Schöpfung mitseufzt und mit in Wehen liegt bis jetzt;
23 und nicht nur sie, sondern auch wir selbst, die wir die Erstlingsgabe des Geistes haben, auch wir erwarten seufzend die Sohnesstellung, die Erlösung unseres Leibes.
24 Denn auf Hoffnung hin sind wir errettet worden. Eine Hoffnung aber, die man sieht, ist keine Hoffnung; denn warum hofft auch jemand auf das, was er sieht?
25 Wenn wir aber auf das hoffen, was wir nicht sehen, so erwarten wir es mit standhaftem Ausharren[a].
26 Ebenso kommt aber auch der Geist unseren Schwachheiten zu Hilfe. Denn wir wissen nicht, was wir beten sollen, wie sich"s gebührt; aber der Geist selbst tritt für uns ein mit unaussprechlichen Seufzern.
27 Der aber die Herzen erforscht, weiß, was das Trachten des Geistes ist; denn er tritt so für die Heiligen ein, wie es Gott entspricht.[b]
Die Zuversicht der Auserwählten Gottes
28 Wir wissen aber, dass denen, die Gott lieben, alle Dinge zum Besten dienen,[c] denen, die nach dem Vorsatz[d] berufen sind.
29 Denn die er zuvor ersehen[e] hat, die hat er auch vorherbestimmt, dem Ebenbild seines Sohnes gleichgestaltet zu werden, damit er der Erstgeborene sei unter vielen Brüdern.
30 Die er aber vorherbestimmt hat, die hat er auch berufen, die er aber berufen hat, die hat er auch gerechtfertigt, die er aber gerechtfertigt hat, die hat er auch verherrlicht.
31 Was wollen wir nun hierzu sagen? Ist Gott für uns, wer kann gegen uns sein?
32 Er, der sogar seinen eigenen Sohn nicht verschont hat, sondern ihn für uns alle dahingegeben hat, wie sollte er uns mit ihm nicht auch alles schenken[f]?
33 Wer will gegen die Auserwählten Gottes Anklage erheben? Gott [ist es doch], der rechtfertigt!

22 Jól tudjuk, hogy mind a mai napig az egész teremtett világ úgy nyög és vajúdik, mint a szülő asszony. 23 De nem csak a teremtett világ, hanem mi magunk is ugyanígy sóhajtozunk. Pedig mi előleget kaptunk a Szent Szellemből! Mégis sóhajtozva várjuk a testünk megváltását, hogy ezzel teljesen Isten fiaivá váljunk. 24 A teljes üdvösségünk ugyanis magában foglalja ezt a reménységet, a testünk megváltását is. Ezt azonban még nem láthatjuk. Ha már látható lenne, akkor nem kellene remélni. 25 Mivel azonban olyan valamit remélünk, amit még nem látunk, várjunk rá türelmesen!
26 Hasonlóképpen a Szent Szellem is segítségünkre siet abban, amiben erőtlenek vagyunk. Hiszen sokszor még azt sem tudjuk, hogy miért és hogyan imádkozzunk. A Szent Szellem azonban maga könyörög értünk, szavakkal ki sem fejezhető sóhajtásokkal. 27 Isten ugyanis jól tudja, mi van a szívünkben, és azt is, mi a Szent Szellem szándéka, mert ő Isten akarata szerint könyörög Isten népéért.
28 Egészen biztosak vagyunk benne, hogy minden összedolgozik azoknak a javára, akik Istent szeretik — akiket ő a saját terve szerint elhívott. 29 Hiszen őket Isten már a világ teremtése előtt ismerte. Sőt, külön is választotta őket, hogy a Fiához hasonlóvá váljanak. Igen, azt akarta, hogy Fia legyen az elsőszülött a sok testvér között Isten nagy családjában. 30 Azt tervezte, hogy ezek a testvérek a Fiához hasonlítsanak. Ezeket a maga számára előre különválasztotta, azután elhívta, majd elfogadhatóvá tette őket, és dicsőséget is adott nekik.

31 Mit is lehetne még hozzátenni ezekhez? Mivel Isten velünk van, ki lehet ellenünk?! 32 Hiszen ő még a saját Fiát sem kímélte meg, hanem odaadta értünk, mindnyájunkért! Akkor hogyne adna nekünk minden mást is a Fiával együtt?
33 Ki vádolhatja azokat, akiket Isten kiválasztott? Senki! Isten felmentette őket minden vád alól!

22 Nous le savons bien, en effet : jusqu’à présent la création tout entière est unie dans un profond gémissement et dans les douleurs d’un enfantement. 23 Elle n’est pas seule à gémir ; car nous aussi, qui avons reçu l’Esprit comme avant-goût de la gloire, nous gémissons du fond du cœur, en attendant d’être pleinement établis dans notre condition de fils adoptifs de Dieu quand notre corps sera délivré[a].
24 Car nous sommes sauvés, mais c’est en espérance ; or, voir ce que l’on espère, ce n’est plus espérer ; qui, en effet, continue à espérer ce qu’il voit ? 25 Mais si nous ne voyons pas ce que nous espérons, nous l’attendons avec persévérance. 26 De même, l’Esprit vient nous aider dans notre faiblesse. En effet, nous ne savons pas prier comme il faut[b], mais l’Esprit lui-même intercède en gémissant d’une manière inexprimable.
27 Et Dieu qui scrute les cœurs sait ce vers quoi tend l’Esprit, car c’est en accord avec Dieu qu’il intercède pour les membres du peuple saint. 28 Nous savons en outre que Dieu fait concourir toutes choses au bien de ceux qui l’aiment[c], de ceux qui ont été appelés conformément au plan divin. 29 En effet, ceux que Dieu a connus d’avance[d], il les a aussi destinés d’avance à devenir conformes à l’image de son Fils, afin que celui-ci soit l’aîné de nombreux frères et sœurs. 30 Ceux qu’il a ainsi destinés, il les a aussi appelés à lui ; ceux qu’il a ainsi appelés, il les a aussi déclarés justes, et ceux qu’il a déclarés justes, il leur a aussi donné sa gloire.
L’amour de Dieu : une assurance certaine
31 Que dire de plus ? Si Dieu est pour nous, qui se lèvera contre nous ? 32 Lui qui n’a même pas épargné son propre Fils, mais l’a livré pour nous tous, comment ne nous donnerait-il pas aussi tout avec lui ? 33 Qui accusera encore les élus de Dieu ? Dieu lui-même les déclare justes.
