Romans 6:20-23

20 For when you were the slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then from the things of which you are now ashamed? The result of those things is death. 22 But now, having been freed from sin and having become slaves of God, you have fruit unto holiness, and the end is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

21 Therefore what sort of fruit did you have then, about which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now, having been set free from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit leading to sanctification, and its end is eternal life. 23 For the compensation due sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
