Romans 6:20-23

20 For (A)when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 Therefore what [a](B)benefit were you then having [b]from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is (C)death. 22 But now having been (D)freed from sin and (E)enslaved to God, you have your [c](F)benefit, [d]leading to sanctification, and (G)the end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of (H)sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is (I)eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

20 When you were slaves of sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What consequences did you get from doing things that you are now ashamed of? The outcome of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and become slaves to God, you have the consequence of a holy life, and the outcome is eternal life. 23 The wages that sin pays are death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
